Obvious this is a serious issue to those who feel that way. I never did. Planetwise I am quite at home even though I am not as adept, face to face with humans as I would like to be. Most seriously, I find myself slow to spot anger in others. But I digress.

Let us pool our knowledge and try to help our fellow travelers. I assume they are talking about feeling that they are from a similar planet to Earth orbiting another star. I feel that they deserve a name at least as high-falutin as "transgender" so lets refer to them as "trans-celestially displaced" or if you wish "tel-cel" for short.

Before we go on, we should first make sure that they are not simply trans-Sol solar system, here is a brief quiz.

1. Do you feel that your body temperature should be a little higher than the melting point of lead and do you enjoy extreme suntanning?

2. Do you enjoy a high pressure lifestyle, the heat of the moment and extreme overcast? Do you drive and SUV because you can't seem to get enough CO2?

3. Do you long for 14 day days and 14 day nights?

4. Do you thrive rarefied atmosphere and appreciate the beauty of powerful dust storms?

5. Do you think you may have been born as a kite or zeppelin-like being floating in immense clouds of hydro-carbons and exotic gasses?

5. Do you "grok" things? Do you have a desire to save Martian princesses. Do you think that you could or should have been born a humanoid on any planet in this vicinity other than this one?

6. Do you feel your body temperature should be no more than a couple of degrees kelvin and that other than the stars you want to see nothing but a tidally locked moon from your pathetically small former
"planet?"

Well, I feel more or less at home on this planet. Not necessarily in this country, though. I can think of a couple of pretty good alternatives.

But there are times when I would really like to wander among the stars and visit various planets and observe various species and cultures—not unlike Captain Irk (sic), but without all the fanfare.

Travel tends to broaden the mind.

P. S. That rescuing Martian princesses has a certain appeal to it. Especially if you have a tall, green, four-armed side kick with tusks to watch your back and clue you in on the local customs.

Being fairly up to date on the current state of knowledge on the search for Earth-like planets, I have nothing but speculation as to how they differ from Earth and still be habitable. I have even less to go on as to how might exist on this one and come to think that another might be more suitable. Any thoughts anyone?

Personally, I feel completely at home here; but there are annoyingly HUGE numbers of those around me who are desparately in need of transport back to whatever planet they apparently came from, and I really wish some of them would JUST GO HOME!

Of course we all do encounter the occasional "other worldly" being with whom we're quite pleased and comfortable; but I haven't persuaded one of them as yet to reveal their planet(s) of origin. They must be from a place with a small population, as they're quite rare; or they may consider our planet (hopefully recognizing those of us who actually belong here) a rather primitive place suitable for only a few to visit. Can't say I blame them if it's their opinion that keeps them away, even if the condition of our planet is mostly the fault of those other undesirable tourists.

I had a music friend in Juneau - who has since retired to Tennessee - who really felt that he had been born later in history than he should have been.

As a shy and melancholy teenager, I used to fantasise that I was indeed on the wrong planet, and had been sent to Earth as an experiment. I imagined my joy when the spaceship would finally arrive in the middle of the night to take me home. (Still waiting!)
