What you have to understand is that women are not, technically, human, so are only covered by the law under duress from mistaken people who haven't grasped this basic truth. In order to be human, with human rights, you have to have external dangly bits and beards, or potential beards.

Thus a military commander in Africa is amazed that his troops' behaviour in carrying out mass rape is criticised by explaining that his soldiers "are human".

Thus a bunch of frat boys at a US Ivy League university drive by the offices in Freshers' Week shouting that "No means Yes", and are not corrected by the administration. (Reported on Women's Hour, BBC Radio 4, earlier this week.)

Thus all the legistation designed to re-establish that women are to be returned to their only function of incubating real humans, the males. Even forced to do so.

Richard, the males who hold this view are all over the world, in all levels of society, and are supported in their vision of the truth by almost all religions. They don't have to be found, dug up from under stones, or fished out of the primordial slime.

Please note, I have not used the terms man or men for these characters - I prefer to use those (and people) for people with brains.

Good point Penny. Just a craftily modified rib, plus some added padding for male comfort of course. I suppose Yahweh could have supplied Adam with a rubber sex doll instead of extracting his rib, but that would suppose that Eve's temptation and resultant damnation to suffer eternally in childbirth *wasn't* in fact part of his big plan (or, sadistic scheme). Being as he's Omnipotent and all, for all the show of surprise and wrathful indignation, my presumption is that it obviously must have been a part of his big plan.. What a perve!

the bill is sickening, but I believe it's mostly theater.

Rape is defined at the state level and handled at the local level. The bill has to do with federal funding of abortions resulting from rape. However, I'm sure that almost all such unwanted pregnancies would be dealt with by a 'morning-after' treatment, and the feds would never know what happened.

This is part of the GOP's long-standing policy of speaking against abortion but actually doing nothing to help anyone.

Boehner also refused to have an honorary COngressional statement to honor the Navy Seals for getting nin Laden.

He said a press release was enough.

The house used to issue honorary statements when a Republican did something of note.


The redefinition of rape might be ammended by Boehner to include if the woman was 'asking for it' by the way she was dressed.
