So far stories I've heard about it have to do with how much the organization hopes to make selling tickets and merch. Even as the Drumpf administration does everything it can to make things difficult for international visitors. The stadium in LA is set for games and the folks there have contingencies for if ICE tries to arrest employees working the event.

The Satanic one intends to attend the Scotland games - "what could possibly go wrong", He attended the NBA final in NY a few days ago, his security squad took up a significant area of the stadium and ordinary fans had to move from their seats. There were private security men patrolling a wide area outside the stadium, stopping people in the street etc. He is not very popular in most countries but more especially in Scotland after what he did to people in Aberdeenshire near his golf course trying to force them to move away from the area. Ive got a friend over there and he will be at all the Scotland games so he will relate to me the welcome they will give him - the clap over the head with a shovel if they can get near enough.

Have you been listening to all the anti Trump songs, ie from England fams, Scotland fans, Austrailian Fans + others. Has anyone got any sympathy for him - sniffer dogs have been used against Uraguaian team, Iran team had to relocate to Mexico and then leave imediately after their game in LA against NZ, Somalian referee refused entry, other pfficials and fans refused entry. Yet the fans have been wonderfull, mixing together and having a great time.

Well such apathy

England 4 Croatia 2

imv England too much defensive push about with backs and goalie who was out of his area far too much first half ~must have been the heat caused lack of interest!

Half time England manager seems to have read the riot act ~ and second half pushed forwards with purpose ~ Kane, Bellingham with sub Rashford scoring that's from memory

England fans celebrating with gusto ( he's a nice lad) IF we win the tournament ~ fans will have increased GDP of the area

Apparently some World Cup visitors are going quite crazy over Ranch dressing as it's not something they've encountered as a salad dressing in Europe, Africa, etc.

The reversal of Balogun’s suspension is a perfect indicator, if one were needed, of how deep the corruption goes within FIFA. Shameless, and utterly shameful. Wonder what kind of bung Infantino received from the fat, ugly, orange bastard.

Congratulations to England on what sounds to have been a great win. Mrs. Backwoodsperson and I were in the Land of Nod, safely tucked up in bed (she has to be up at 05:45 for work) but the SkyQ box recorded it, and we will watch it tonight. Going out to buy the (0% alcohol) beers this morning…

“I saw the play, and I’m a person that loves sports. That wasn’t a foul,” Trump said. “That wasn’t even an infraction… this referee, who is a little bit suspect if you check his past. He made a call that nobody could believe… he’s our best player, or one of our best players. And he gave him a red card.

The ref should act against the little t's suggestion that he was not even handed etc

Trump is out of order and keep his gob shut ~ yes not all actions are strictly correct but to select one and not many others is against the spirit of the game ~ but Trump does not care or understand the football game ~played largely with feet

Go home Trump

Red and yellow cards were only introduced in 1970 I believe. You are correct that a sending off suspension was reversed in 1962.

Listening to Trump it would appear that he knows next to nothing about football. He did once tell Jimmy Greaves that he had played football (or soccer as he called it) when he was younger. I tend not to believe a word that he says.

Teams were told that they could not appeal against red cards. All except one team it seems.

Maybe England might appeal against last nights red card.

It's nice that the US did so well this time, but not even Trump and an overturned red card could deal with just meeting a better team. Belgium just played like a team that might go all the way.

It's interesting to me that the major national teams all have players who come from other countries. Places like Panama, Haiti, Curaçao and Uzbekistan don't get many immigrants.

Even Balogun was only eligible for the US because he was born in Brooklyn while his Nigerian mother was visiting.

‘Stepped on an ankle’

By Erik C Petterson

Got a red card?
Banned from the game?
Stepped on an ankle,
Is your claim to fame?

A faux Peace Prize leader,
who wrote the Art of the Deal,
he's negotiating your freedom,
going to make an appeal.

He's deeply loved by FIFA,
Adored by Infantino.
and if he asks for a favor,
Jesus will turn water into Vino.

So you stepped on an ankle?
You're banned from a game?
Tell Donald Trump,
and he'll switch around the blame.

Tell the Old Grifter,
Let him advocate for you.
That red card will be lifted,
He'll make your dreams come true.

Well you're back in the game,
Belgium is waiting on their chance
Now Its all up to you,
So dont shit your pants.

Belgium scored four goals,
and your team scored only one.
You lost ankle stepper!
And your advocate's a BUM!
