I just spent five minutes in Mudchat, and Artbrooks and marie-aine were in the room. I got a nice "Hi, Jerry" from Art, and then five minutes of silence. When I tried to post greetings, and questions, I felt like I was talking underwater, it took so long for them to appear on the screen. Now, unless Art and marie were suddenly stricken with laryngitis, something must be going on again with Mudchat. Don't get me wrong! I only mention this because I enjoy Mudchat so much that it's a real disappointment when I can't get it working.

Is there any value in these repeated threads, letting Max know that Mudchat is acting up? If there is, then I post this only with a desire to let you know what's happening, Max. If there isn't I'll just go in a corner and cry. Sniff, sniff..

Jerry

I saw this thread and thought ... IT MUST BE SORCHA... (just teasing). I think if you are in Mudchat long enough each day you are bound to experience some glitches. ...... Meet you there, JR.

For reasons beyond my ken, I am having a grand time trying to access any Mudcat sites tonight. The only way I got here was through a back door. I had a digitrad song bookmarked. I could access that and then get here. Go figure!

LOL, Alice. We decided today that there is no Sorcha, she is a figment and tries to hide every time an Alice comes into chat......(grin)

Not sure if this is the place to mention it, but whathahell: THANK YOU (especially to the UK Catters and the Hull contingent) Yes, the room is a bit dodgy for me, and the 'laryngitis' was a real problem, but after visiting today? I don't think I've laughed that hard in months. Y'all are too, too much.

I was suddenly strangled. I got this strange message about my connection, and then I was out. And when I tried to log back in, I couldn't connect to that web-page, couldn't even get to the forum/threads page. So I gave up and went to bed. But, I have faith in Max and the rest of the techies. They'll get it fixed eventually. I'll wait.

Yes, it's still full of Mudquirks, but what the hell, it's great fun. It'll get fixed, and until then I'll just log off and on until something works. Best invention since .... another good idea.

It is possible for two people to be in the room but speaking only to each other, if you look at the options over on the righthand side. I've done it myself. It must sound like silence to anyone else in there, and it is probably impolite to do it if everyone else is waiting for you to say something for too long. But it is useful for exchanging bits of information when you don't want to broadcast to everyone.

Saw in the newspaper that there was a major hack attack on one of the main internet nodes the other day. I'm satisfied with what I can get.

Something like thirteen out of (is it) 18 top level servers hot with DoS attacks by some benighted soul with more fingers than IQ points....
