Get yer bum back oop 'ere, Micca lad, they have just named a beer for you:-)

Holts brewery have just released a new beer is described as "bursting with citrus flavours of challenger hops with delicious undertones of pure honey"! Sounds just like the lad himself!

Follow the link "A great new beer for a great cause" Here for the full story.

Ok, Ok I know it isn't spelt quite right but you know us northerners are an ignorant lot. But you know, shave our Micca's beard off and he could well have modelled for that advert...

Cheers

Dave the Gnome

and "Born" in October too!! the 1 "t" Patersons are the "other " branch Dave, but I would certainly fancy a trip to the White Lion to try it! or maybe you or Spot could smuggle one to the Yorkshire Gathering in May!!

You know what they say Dave, "never trust a drink made by the chemists". Guess what Micca's trade is.................

Actually the eyebrow on the bloke in the drawing is definitly a little too familiar..........

Andrea

By the way, didya know that the biochemistry dept (I think it was that one) at Sunderland Uni has, or had a brewery? Sold the stuff through the union bar, I believe. T'was some years ago when I was told of this. Anyone know if it's still going?

Wouldn't be the Lion though, Micca, but the Cricketers across the road may sell it. Wonder how they would react to a singing session..?

Cheets

If not in the Lion? Dave, what is the Brew there?i KNOW that it spealt oblivion, no matter what it said on the label, I thought it was Holts, if you can find a bottle of this stuff, at my expense for the Yorkshire gathering I would appreciate it. I bet the Cricketers would be a bit scared if the Habitues ( and a few Southern extras) of your Folk Club went in for a sing!!!!!

It's Robinsons in the Lion, Micca. The demon brew there, at 8.5%, is Old Tom and it is available in botles. I reckon we can smuggle a bottle or two as long as the pennine security guards ain't looking:-)

Holts is strange stuff. Apart from it being the cheapest beer around, possibly in the country, it's standard bitter is a killer brew, despite being only around 4%! Dunno what it is. Perhaps you can do a chemical analysis for us;-)

Cheers

Mouldy - If I recall correctly Sunderland University was the home of Brewlab, and they won quite a few awards with their brews.
They seem to still be on the go Clich here for info on BREWLAB.
Quack!

Now that's an option for Ruth's degree course, if she ever decides to drop her media aspirations...!

Has anybody actually tasted the Paterson's yet?

I must admit that I tend to associate "bursting with citrus flavours and delicious undertones of pure honey" with Cascade Hops rather than Challenger. Sounds like the sort of beer that I'm tending to enjoy these days.

I've not tried it yet - which is very odd seeing as 3 out of the 5 pubs withing 5 miinutes walking distance are Holts houses! I do lean towards the sweeter beers so I guess I should enjoy this one. Might try it tonight:-)

Grrrr - Arrrrgh - Been in all 3 tonight and not only do they not sell it - they deny all knowledge of it! But the White Lion have a new brew - Enigma. Very strange walking to the bar and asking for an Enima...;-)

We will get to the bottom ('scuse the pun) of the Patersons yet!

Cheers
