is there any way I can find the tune or the origins of Kris Kristofferson songs? Casey's Last Ride, and Just The Other Side Of
Nowhere. I found different versions of the chord changes, but I haven't found the tune.

Go to youtube.com and plug in Kris Kristofferson. There is lots of KK there, as well as a number of people covering his songs.

I was looking for how to play the melody on an instrument, thanks.

Oh, so it's not really 'origins' then? Cause I was under the impression that he wrote most of them which makes the Origins pretty clear.

no need to be a smartass, by ear or by dots. it costs money to get that
sheet music, and some people don't have the ear for it.
You ever think of that.

Be careful not to read animosity where there isn't any, Jay. Can you tell us whether Merle wants to learn the song from a recording (by ear), or from musical notation (dots), or from tablature? Seems Kat has a legitimate question.
If anyone has lyrics and chords, please post them here, also.

"The Songs of Kris Kristofferson" published by Chappell Music Company and distributed by Harper and Row has lyrics, melody, harmony and chords for 54 songs including the two mentioned, all apparently written by him. There is no date on the book but individual songs are copyright 1965 to 1972 and the price for the paperback edition was $6.95.

$6.95 That doesn't seem to be much for sheet music to his songs. Especially for 54 of them. That's a really great deal, it's practically a steal. I'd go for that.
Dear Merle, Jay, Blue - Please remember to use a consistent name when you post.

Well, that was $6.95 in 1972....but Bookfinder.com [ “Songs of Kris Kristofferson”] says you can get a used copy for about twelve bucks nowadays.

It was a legitimate question, Joe, thanks. If by ear, I am sure sound files could be found online, but who would bother for someone who takes offence so easily.

first i see red text saying "anonymous" will be deleted, now I see
"use consistent names." I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't come back.

No surprise since you are all one and the same.
