"Ypto" is, itself, I believe, a typo of Amos' long ago.

Yesterday I cracked myself up. I'm webmastering our parish website-- good thing I proofrede, because about that raffle-- I had typed "Sinners need not be present"! (Winners)

And in a PM today, "fifference."

What are some of yours, or some you've seen and gotten a laugh out of? Not the timeworn bulletin bloopers, please-- fresh stuff from your life.

Not really a typo, but a friend worked for the National Coal Board (NCB) in South Yorkshire, in the far-off days when Britain had a coal industry.

She glanced at someone else's work and read that some unfortunate miner's widow's concessionary coal allowance was to be reduced to 5 tons "per anum".

For those in the legal trades, there are special dictionaries and spell checkers available whose most significant and obvious change is the complete and total expungement of the word "trail."

(It's very easy to add new words to most spellcheck dictionaries, but almost impossible to delete one from the base dictionary that comes with your wp program.)

Just came across this headline (at www.620kpoj.com):

"Hopefuls pack Rose Garden for chance to sign at Blazers game"

Now, I think it's great if signers accompany the main vocalists at events like basketball games, for the sake of the hearing-impaired. But since the accompanying photo was of a young woman holding a mic up to her mouth, I sort of got the impression that wasn't the type of talent they were auditioning for.

I had one tutorial response on the Pubic [sic] Order Act 1936 -

"it is illegal to wear a blackberry in public".

(black beret).

My fellow lawyers on the 'Cat will be interested to learn that there is a Tort of Pissing Off.

I saw a funny typo some years ago, about a soldier's funeral where,apparently,the "Last Post" was sounded by two burglars !
