Subject: BS: CIA Agent: Bush Cooked the Books... From: Bobert Date: 10 Feb 06 - 06:28 PM Hmmmmmmmm? According to former CIA agent, Paul R, Pillar, Bush "'cherry picked' intellegence on Iraq to justify a decision that had it already had reached to go to war, and of ignoring warnings that the country could easily fall into violence and chaos after an invasion to overthrow Saddam Husssen". Pillar, who was the national intellegence officer for the Near East from 2000 to 2005, went on to say, "It has become clear that official intellegence was not relied on in making even the most most significant national security decisions, that intellegence was misused publicly to justify decisions already made, that damaging ill will developed between [Bush] policy makers and intellegence officers, and that the intellegence community's own work was politicized". BTW, Pillar was considwered to be the agency's leading counterterrorist analyst. Source: The Wsahington Post, Feb. 10th, 2006, "Ex-CIA Officail Faults Use of Data on Iraq", Page A-1... Bobert |

Subject: RE: BS: CIA Agent: Bush Cooked the Books... From: Bobert Date: 10 Feb 06 - 08:30 PM Well, with the arguments and investigations coming up on the Bush administration's manipulation of intellegence, it is important when folks who were "insiders" come out and stand up... Sure, lots of us are of the opinion that Bush is a liar, but there's also Karl Rove, the master of turning chicken sh*t into chicken salad and so I'm real glad that a few insiders have the courage to step up to the plate... We shouldn'd allow ourselves to become bored by this... That's what Karl Rove wants and expects... Bobert |

Subject: RE: BS: CIA Agent: Bush Cooked the Books... From: Donuel Date: 11 Feb 06 - 07:24 AM Inside the beltway if you use the word lie, your career will dead end. Lieing is is the means by which most people here earn their living. IT is normal operating procedure to extort, lie and cheat but you can never call it that. So new words and phrases have been devised to package the most ugly in delightful patterns and ribbons. Instead we say; spin, artfully motivate or to give a different take. To deviate from the normal prevarication in this town is considered to be a foolish and naieve thing to do. a href="http://www.angelfire.com/md2/customviolins/bushlieworked2.jpg">http://www.angelfire.com/md2/customviolins/bushlieworked2.jpg |
