Subject: BS: The Terminator creates a Health service From: Richard Bridge Date: 26 Dec 07 - 07:35 PM Possibly the biggest news of the coming of civilisation to the USA, adn no other thread about it? Or am I missing it? Isn't it odd how this particular Republican turns up every so often on the left of the Democrats? Was he a mole? |

Subject: RE: BS: The Terminator creates a Health service From: McGrath of Harlow Date: 26 Dec 07 - 08:10 PM If he can do it I have no excuses..Thanks for getting my tail in gear. Well, there's an awful lot of room there. Including virtually the whole political spectrum in England (and most of those are pretty right-wing!) |
Subject: RE: BS: The Terminator creates a Health service From: Midchuck Date: 26 Dec 07 - 08:49 PM Having been King of Aquilonia before he was Governor of California, he learned to bypass a lot of the political crap you run into in a democracy. Peter. |
Subject: RE: BS: The Terminator creates a Health service From: Jeri Date: 26 Dec 07 - 08:57 PM Cut through the red tape with a broadsword? I'll have to look for some info as I haven't heard anything about this. California is a long way from here, and I haven't listened to hours of CNN since... last night. |
Subject: RE: BS: The Terminator creates a Health service From: Bobert Date: 26 Dec 07 - 09:03 PM Well, I haven't heard about this health care initiative but Arnold ain't yer grandfather's Republican... He ain't too sure what he is but, hey, that don't much matter... He's a wus... Yeah, his ol' lady plays him like a violin and he is so unaware that he thinks that he is thinking of this stuff... Go, Maria... B~ |
Subject: RE: BS: The Terminator creates a Health service From: Amos Date: 26 Dec 07 - 09:23 PM We expect no less from our Governor than to design the future of America, just ahead of the curve. It is no small responsibility. A |
Subject: RE: BS: The Terminator creates a Health service From: katlaughing Date: 27 Dec 07 - 12:05 AM I have a friend who is in the nitty-gritty of what politicians and regular folks are figuring out on how to improve health care for all. She attended a high level conference in CA and met with Arnold. My friend is a real Democrat and no newbie to politics. She's been involved in some way in most elections ever run in WY and then some. She is well-travelled and educated. Anyway, she found him to be a remarkable man who expressed himself very well. She is a tough nut to crack, but she left knowing that he has some good plans and she saw some real hope for everyone when he gets his plan into action. With the respect I have for my friend and her savvy, I pay attention when I hear about him and his programs/actions. |

Subject: RE: BS: The Terminator creates a Health service From: michaelr Date: 28 Dec 07 - 03:07 PM The Goobernator's plan would require every Californian to buy health insurance. From the insurance companies. Anyone else see a problem with that? Cheers, Michael |
Subject: RE: BS: The Terminator creates a Health service From: MMario Date: 28 Dec 07 - 03:12 PM well - making it illegal to not carry health insurance (such as massachusetts did) doesn't mean that people can **afford** the insurance - therefore you end up with a catch-22 situation...because the companies can still refuse you based on non-payment. |
Subject: RE: BS: The Terminator creates a Health service From: Richard Bridge Date: 28 Dec 07 - 05:25 PM I thought most of his finance was due to come from a tax on smokers? Will the premia be set by the insurance companies, or will they be flat-rate like "National Insurance"? Will they be covered by the state for those who can claim benefits? |
