Subject: BS: Oh, the guilt..... From: Bobert Date: 26 Sep 05 - 07:36 PM Okay, I did it... I went into a Walmart... I am so ashamed that I am typin' this with a bag over my head... Yeah, I said I'd neveer do it but there are only two places to take film to have it developed and printed and the other on, CVS Pharmacy charges like 11 bucks fir a 24 sexposure roll... Hey, That's way too much... So I went into Walmart... The same roll is $4.49 so I filled outt he information on the enveloppe and then stood before the little slot fir a couple of minutes havin' this little debate in my head which went along the lines of "11 bucks or 4 bucks?" then dropped the envelope in the slot... I'll get the P-Vine to pick up the piccures... Oh, the guilt... I feel dirty... Bobert |

Subject: RE: BS: Oh, the guilt..... From: mack/misophist Date: 26 Sep 05 - 08:21 PM Hook a usb card reader to your computer rather than hooking the camera to it, when you do. It's safer. If you hook the camera up and the batteries run down while you're transferring the pictures, you could lose everything left on the chip. It can even screw up the chip formatting. |

Subject: RE: BS: Oh, the guilt..... From: Bee-dubya-ell Date: 27 Sep 05 - 12:37 AM Look at it this way, Bobert. At least WalMart didn't tell ya "Oh, you don't have one of our "Preferred Customer Super Value Saver Cards"? Well then, your price is $13.49! See how much money you'd save if you'd just take a few minutes to give us all kinds of personal information and let us invade your privacy?" |

Subject: RE: BS: Oh, the guilt..... From: Rapparee Date: 27 Sep 05 - 09:09 AM What! You, the Imperialistic Capitalist Oppressor of the Workers? You, one of the Landowning Moneyed Class? A plutocratic plunderer of the poor? You worry about having photos developed at Walmart? Better that you should worry about your place in the Coming Revolution and whether or not you will be allowed a last cigarette! (I wouldn't worry about it. I've been to Luray, and you ain't got a lot of choice. And how'd ya like them "P's"?) |

Subject: RE: BS: Oh, the guilt..... From: dick greenhaus Date: 27 Sep 05 - 03:41 PM It's sometimes difficult to weigh moral and ethical principles against money. I'm still amused that Sing Out, that pro-labour, ultra liberal, left-wing mag is being printed on a non-union press--because, we're told, a unionized printer charges too much. |
