Subject: Buffao Springfield tour 2011 From: Wesley S Date: 16 Mar 11 - 06:32 PM I was pretty excited to hear that Buffalo Springfield was going to get together for another tour. Dewey Martin and Bruce Palmer have passed on but they will be replaced. Richie Furey, Stephen Stills and Neil Young are on board. Subject: RE: Buffao Springfield tour 2011 From: pdq Date: 16 Mar 11 - 07:14 PM Jim Messina was not a founding member but he did work with them at the end of their run. Is he going to be invited along for this year's tour? |

Subject: RE: Buffao Springfield tour 2011 From: Wesley S Date: 16 Mar 11 - 07:27 PM According to what I've read they will be "joined by drummer Joe Vitale filling in for the late Dewey Martin and Young's longtime bassist Rick Rosas replacing the late Bruce Palmer". |

Subject: RE: Buffalo Springfield tour 2011 From: Lonesome EJ Date: 16 Mar 11 - 08:12 PM I always like Richie Furay, and would love to see these three together as long as its a shared show and not Neil Young and friends. Come on McGuinn...we love you as a folk singer, but would it hurt to give Dave and Chris a call? |

Subject: RE: Buffalo Springfield tour 2011 From: pdq Date: 16 Mar 11 - 08:25 PM Wow, they could invite everybody who ever played in Poco, the Byrds, CSN & Y and the Flying Burrito Brothers and have a grand old time. Heck, Country Gazette was an outgrowth of the Burrito's concerts, and I'll bet Byron Berline is still in fine form... |

Subject: RE: Buffalo Springfield tour 2011 From: Lonesome EJ Date: 17 Mar 11 - 01:43 AM Byron Berline is in excellent form, and honestly looks pretty much the same. Got a hot bluegrass combo, and throws a bluegrass festival each summer in Oklahoma. I don't know if Gram would be up for it, but I wouldn't mind if Emmy threw in some harmony. |

Subject: RE: Buffalo Springfield tour 2011 From: lefthanded guitar Date: 17 Mar 11 - 02:24 PM I'd love to see them again too. Of all the bands of that era,and style of music, such as Jefferson Airplane, Steve Miller Band, Traffic, etc. I think they were the best. |

Subject: RE: Buffalo Springfield tour 2011 From: Wesley S Date: 17 Mar 11 - 04:29 PM By the way - speaking of Jefferson Airplane - I saw in the paper today that Paul Kantner just turned 70. That left me feeling a little old..... |
