recently two WestHam footballers,were left in England,when the club played a training session in Dubai[I understand this was because they were Jewish].
now that Manchester City,are owned by an arab,are we going to see further anti jewish exclusion?

A university friend of mine once failed to get a job with an oil company by being too witty.

THe job would ahve een in the Arab states. He was asked "Is there any reason they would need to know you were Jewish". He replied "Only if they take my trousers off".

Terry - no. It's still silly & wrong, but it's nationality, not "race" or "ethnicity".   Lots of countries discriminate on that basis.

I'd also read Rod Liddle's article, hence my question. Presumably many or most Jewish visitors to Dubai aren't visibly Jewish? I wonder if a family of Orthodox Jews arriving at Dubai Airport would be allowed entry.

Why should just religion go away...why not race...or sex?
Why can't everybody just be the same? We'll all speak the same language, be the same height, have the same thick head of hair, sing the same songs, wear the same clothes, all have the same talents. Yeah, let's get rid of differences. What a wonderful world this would then be!!

Actually, I think there are folks who would like to get rid of religious, sex, racial and national differences; they think of themselves as progressive. This is not, repeat, not, to say all progressives want all of those things...so don't even go there with me.
