Thank you to all that took the time to give that Mudcat help to my need for info about self employed.
Have gone up the no van route, got an accountant, getting a new bank account tommorrow. Your advice was very welcome.
Just for the record, sang a song at a morris music session last week, will be going out more, feel more empowered now, hope to keep singing! If I hit the verbal brickwall that I hit some 20 years ago it will fuck me up forever this time, but here goes!

I need hugs! I am often seen as someone who has no compassion & gives no compassion but compassion works both ways, I hope that those that know me as person know how soft that I am! So you can hug me if you wish, it will be returned in kind. I am often seen to be outside the "folk world" because I don't sing or play, but I do "dabble" with folk music in my own way.

It is scary at first, I did it 15 years ago ... I would never go back to either the University or Corporate America ...   It is a struggle sometimes, but being in control of your own life is well worth it believe me. Please PM anytime if you need advice
