Well, well, well...

I knew I was gonna be a little late gettin' my addition finished up and so I'z payin' fir it tonight with temps at the keyboard in the low 50's and damp, seein' as it's rain' out and that air is comin' in under the eves...

Brrrrrr???

Anyone else sufferin' at the keyboard tonight???

Maybe if I knew that someone else was bundled up beneath a bunch of sweaters at thie keyboards it might make this more bareable...

Maybe not but misery loves company...

Bobert

Well Bobert my man, it's pissing down here in Portland Maine, but I have a Glenlivet in one hand and Sinsull's house is nice and cosy, it is her birthday and she's on the champagne, so all's right in my world.
Not only that but last week I met P Vine's husband so everything is hunky dory.
Giok

I've got a nice fire a'blazing in the woodstove so it's nice and toasty at my keyboard.

Too bad you're all chilled out but don't worry summer is just around the corner.

I suppose you COULD buy a cheap pair of wool gloves, and cut the very ends of the fingers off. That way you'd be cold up to the first joint in each finger, but the rest of the finger and hand would stay warm, and you could still type. . . Well that is if you can type now, when it's warm.

Peace, 46 degrees isn't cold when you're wrapped up and working. Sitting down and relazing in it is a different story.

Bobert, that is the same figure I walked into when I came home. The furnace - a new one - had stopped sometime during my six days gone - there was no hot water in the expansion tank so it had been some time- and it was blamed cold in here. The first floor thermometer said 46, the apartment up top read 45.

The furnace had a burp in it and wouldn't reset. Luckily, my go to guy was home and able to come within the hour and work on it, while I sat in the downstairs kitchen (this is a three-floor house museum) with the oven on. By the time my guy had reconnected things, the temperature was up to about 60 in that room but it took most of the night to get the whole house warmed. When walls get cold it takes awhile.

Our outdoor temperatures hover right around 40 these days so it isn't freezing much overnight yet.

I should have given you some handwarmers I took along to the Getaway, Beaubie. If the temperatures had dropped into the polar digits this year I was ready...
