From: GUEST,Tunesmith Date: 19 Oct 04 - 04:10 PM This has probably been mentioned before in this thread, but there's a general feeling in the UK that British place names - in contemporary songs - don't sound quite right, and that their U.S.A counterparts somehow sound more romantic e.g. " Riding a fast train to San Antonio" sounds a lot better than " Riding a fast train to Huddersfield" |
