I was searching for something else about him and found a few articles which claimed that one or more Democrats have put forward a motion to impeach him. Is this true, or is it just a very large amount of wishful thinking?

It's true. But impeachment takes weeks. And many Republican would have to vote for conviction, which is hardly more likely than it was the last two times.

The 25th Amendment would also takse weeks, with votes by both the Cabinet and the Congress.

He could do all sorts of mischief in the meantime.

The Founders believed that such a person would not be elected, but if he were, that he would be removed by Congress.

They did not imagine that he'd try to overthrow an election. And then be re-elected. And deport innocent people. And start a war for an imaginary reason. And not be restrained by Congress. And be adored by millions.

Now he's blasting the Pope and suggesting he's the Messiah.

I predicted in 2016 that some day there would be a Trump religion. People laughed.

It's worth noting that Nazism was mostly the Antebellum South reskinned for German consumption, and it was EXTREMELY popular in Interwar USA with millions of card carrying party members (mostly the Bund, but others too). What we're seeing in the USA now isn't a result of Trump being elected - he got elected because of what the USA has become.

I'm not sure about the "reskinning" bit, but I've seen the last observation elsewhere (upthread?), with slightly different phrasing. There was also a programme on PBS History about the Bund, which I may have mentioned before, which ended with the comment: "Fascism is always home-grown."

Don't take the written word as Gospel. For that matter don't take all the gospel as gospel. There were Nazi summer camps in Long Island funded by Germany. Some people believe the original southern racism was from Scottish immigrants. Things are more complex than certain opinions.

For example Trump loves extortion but that does not mean that he will extort the entire world with nuclear annihilation. But he is crazy enough.

Attended peace talks with a list of goals for Iran's leaders to agree to. AFAIK, Iran's leaders agreed to nothing. Strait of Hormuz still cluzed.
Sought a phone call from his fearless leader while publicly addressing a crowd. No call. But he did get through to voicemail.

Tariffs are causing World wide consternation ~ too costly, to fund Wars in Iran and Russia

So actions will be to isolate US pricy goods and services ~ once done and it will not be easy or simple ~ but permanent changes of supplier and methods will probably be really permanent ~ Big T is a one off type of salesman ~ you cannot get away with these tactics every day, once demand has dried it will fall to a trickle

The article is worth reading.

A search about him and the image shows a lot about the backlash, especially as it coincides with his verbal attacks on the Pope.

My Hubby showed me an AI generated alternative narrative of Jesus pushing tRump backwards into a burning hell pit. It was on Farcebook today and I'll look for it a bit more but I can't find it in a quick search.

A nuclear Iran would not be much of an issue if they hadn't taken American hostages, spent the last 47 years chanting "Death to America" and "Death to Israel," talking about the "Great and Little Satans," backing Houthi rebels in Yemen, and arming the insurgents in Iraq and Hezbollah in Lebanon.

Do you really want these guys to have atom bombs?

Obama didn't, and hammered out an multi-nation agreement, including inspections, that most of the world believed kept Iran from getting them. Trump called it the "worst deal in the history of our country," negotiated by "stupid people who haven't read The Art of the Deal."

Trump promised to tear that agreement up and tore it up for no good reason, proving his hostility to Iran. That made Tehran even madder.

For those who wanted a "better agreement," the usual diplomacy is to keep the original in effect subject to renewed negotiation.

But denouncing, rejecting, and breaking it on TV makes for better photo ops.
