Subject: RE: BS: Gun carrier in a guitar case From: MGM·Lion Date: 24 Nov 13 - 05:46 PM Guns carried in musical instrument cases is, of course, one of the clichés of the "gangster" genre. There's a James Thurber story in which it occurs, called "The Remarkable Case of Mr Bruhl", in the collection called The Middle-aged Man on the Flying Trapeze (1935). ~M~ |

Subject: RE: BS: Gun carrier in a guitar case From: GUEST,Raggytash Date: 26 Nov 13 - 06:12 AM A long time ago, back in the early 70's a friend of mine (name withheld) was playing a few gigs in Belfast. Walking through the city carrying his guitar case he was stopped by squaddies. He was asked "what have you got in the case mate" He glibly replied "AK47" at which point he had one British Army issue rifle stuffed down his ear and another pressed against the base of his skull. Bit of a mistake he quickly realised taking the piss out of squaddies !! |
