Ihave just been on a mudcat thread and next to the thread names was a little bit of red writing that said

News as of 02.12.02

Have I not yet had my 40th birthday? or for theat matter my 39 and 3/4 birthday party or even my 39th birthday! Once you get to 40 does time go backwards or have I been plunged back in time?

confused and concerned!!

On my computer when I call up Duel old git& Mcfat or whatever its called next to the section where it lists the names of all the people who have posted messages it says latest news from 02/12/02 I do not need help - it doesnt worry me I am just confused as to why it says it

Didn't meant to offend, sorry. It's just that posting such things on the Help Forum alerts Jeff, Max, and Joe that there may be a potential problem. As it is, they will see this, I am sure, and see what's up.

I still don't see it. Have you tried resetting your cookie to see if it goes away?

No - I am getting quite attached to the idea that i am still only 38 and have my 39th birthday/ 39 and 3/4 party and my 40th birthday still to come - no offence taken at all - it were a prbelm I would post it to help I am concerned that only I can see it now though!!! Perhaps it was too much lemonade at the folk festival this weekend - watered down the alcohol content too much

"News as of 02 Dec 02" will eventually appear if I reload the page a few times (each reloading reveals a different message under the Lyrics & Knowledge Search box.)

I did see it, right after I read Red & White Rabbit's post. It was an official, i.e. Mudcat, message- the "Dec.2, 02' phrase was in red. A moment or two later I went back to see it again and it was gone. Figured a Joe/Clone fixed it.

I have also noticed people keep reviving old threads that have dates from way back when - is this all just to confuse me?

No, Red & White, the revival of old threads is to avoid starting new ones that cover the same ground, when more 'in depth' reading is available.
If someone starts a new thread about a song which has messages already on the 'Cat it makes sense to direct atention there rather than repeat ourselves. Also, not everyone who has been a member is still here. It is good to know that some of their knowledge is still available

it is an old "news flash" that occasionally pops up - just as the "Buy Mudcat CD's" message and Action items appear and disappear. I'm not sure exactly how the tech side of it works - but the "news" item seems to show up less often then do some of the others.

I get it but only on the odd numbered days. And even then, if I click on it, all I get is an ad for Viagra. What could this mean? I asked Carol to look at it and she said it wasn't there. I've gained ten pounds this year and as a member of Mudcat I suspect I am one of the larger members. So why should I keep getting spam that wants me to enlarge my member? My urologist tells me that a nice warm bath will take me down a few pegs though. Could be that is what I ought to do. Either that or a cold shower !! But keep in mind, as I am very fond of saying, "If it wasn't for time, we'd have to do everything all at once."

Why would you want to diminsh your size? As a rabbit I am sure w could find something to do - with or without viagra!!!
