I was just watching a show on the fishing business in Iceland. I thought the north Atlantic was rough in this part of the world, but, MAN! from dead calm to 90 knots of wind in a matter of minutes? There was no time to prepare. No wonder they drink something called "Black Death" (Brenivin).
Skarpi, I have a question. If only 15% of the population there is in the fishing business, what do the rest of you do?

Shoot, I was thinking about finding a summer nanny gig in Iceland for my eldest next year. Maybe not?! The mild NC climate doesn't prepare one for much. All WE really need is the occasional Jack Daniels!

Liam's Brother is a bit of an expert on the subject, having
worked for Icelandic Air for some of his career.

Skarpi, you can get started buying up the US anytime you want.

I can see the headlines now:

"Iceland: Threat or Menace?"
"Iceland To Canada: "Give Us Baffin Island Or Else!!"
"Iceland Puts Colony On Mars"
"Thing Gives Spitzbergen 24 Hours To Surrender"
