Subject: Lancaster maritime festival 2008 From: GUEST,The Black Belt Caterpillar Wrestler Date: 18 Oct 07 - 07:41 AM Our local free newspaper states that it won't be happening because nobody has applied for the grant to organise it and the deadline has passed. Anyone know more details or can refute this? |
Subject: RE: Lancaster maritime festival 2008 From: The Sandman Date: 18 Oct 07 - 08:01 AM If that is the case it is very sad,as I am sure a number of people would have been willing to organise it,if they were aware that the previous organisers were not allowed /or did not want to organise it.Dick Miles |

Subject: RE: Lancaster maritime festival 2008 From: The Sandman Date: 18 Oct 07 - 04:33 PM It may be that Glasson is still on,Val Simpkin ,has a contact and e mail no,and should be able to give further info.Dick Miles |
Subject: RE: Lancaster maritime festival 2008 From: GUEST,The black belt caterpillar wrestler Date: 19 Oct 07 - 07:23 AM I have mixed opinions about whether it was a good idea to move to Glasson dock. I know that there was no option at the time, but although some new attendees were there because of the change of venue there were also some missing for the same reason. I could only get there for part of one day whereas if it was still in Lancaster I could have been around for more. It's very difficult to decide what effect the move had, even if you have the exact attendance figures. Robin Madge |

Here is another contact that I inadvertenly omitted from my previous post.Dick Miles |
