Subject: RE: BS: Cat Nouveau Bathing Ritual From: VirginiaTam Date: 07 Feb 10 - 11:50 AM wonderful apart from the wasted water. think it is bengal or at least part. they love playing in water. neighbor of mine had to keep kitty out of bathrooms, because she could turn the basin taps on, but never turned them off. |

Subject: RE: BS: Cat Nouveau Bathing Ritual From: Ebbie Date: 07 Feb 10 - 11:58 AM My cat drinks from the tap too; he rarely touches a water bowl. I usually remember to leave the bathroom sink water just above a fast drip. (but he doesn't dunk his head in it!) |

Subject: RE: BS: Cat Nouveau Bathing Ritual From: gnomad Date: 07 Feb 10 - 07:32 PM I've never met one, but have been intrigued by stories of the Turkish Van cat, which is said to be so fond of water that some can only be kept from joining their owners in the tub by locking the door. I can't have animals where I live, but otherwise I might be tempted. |

Subject: RE: BS: Cat Nouveau Bathing Ritual From: maire-aine Date: 07 Feb 10 - 09:11 PM My big orange (ginger) cat Danny used to jump up onto the side of the bathroom vanity and wait for me to turn the water on. He never go water all over his head like this guy. Alway carefull to turn his head and drink. He was such a great cat. |

Subject: RE: BS: Cat Nouveau Bathing Ritual From: Sandra in Sydney Date: 07 Feb 10 - 09:42 PM thread drift a friend was telling me last night about the new pups next door. He claims the breed is Little Fluffy Slipper, not one I've heard of. For it's first drink out of a saucer one of the pups put his whole muzzle in, then licked his chops, & repeated the procedure till he'd had enough. sandra |

Subject: RE: BS: Cat Nouveau Bathing Ritual From: Becca72 Date: 08 Feb 10 - 09:39 AM My Siamese/Tuxedo mix, Mikey will only drink from the bathroom faucet. He usually ends up with a mohawk (or a fauxhawk) because he lets the water run down his face but I don't turn it on nearly as high as that in the video... |

Subject: RE: BS: Cat Nouveau Bathing Ritual From: Bryn Pugh Date: 08 Feb 10 - 11:08 AM Our tortie (US - Calico) and white, Maisie, also drinks from the tap, and has before today joined me in the bath. We think she has some Turkish Van cat in her. |

Subject: RE: BS: Cat Nouveau Bathing Ritual From: GUEST,leeneia Date: 09 Feb 10 - 09:24 AM I used to have a cat who only drank water from a tiny stream in the bathtub. Once we left her with friends for a trip, and when she returned to the house, she raced to the tub for a drink. She gave me a hard stare, the she whacked the faucet handle with her paw. That was sign language! It was perfectly pointless for her to touch the handle, because she couldn't grip it or turn it. She was using her paw to indicate "Turn this, stupid!" Need I mention that she was always hacked off with us when we went on a trip? She was a wonderful little cat. I miss her. |

Subject: RE: BS: Cat Nouveau Bathing Ritual From: Becca72 Date: 09 Feb 10 - 09:44 AM Leenia, It's funny how they train us, isn't it? My first responsibility when arriving home from work is to go directly to the bathroom and turn on the faucet so Mikey can have a drink. He raises all kinds of hell if I fall out of line on this. :-) |

Subject: RE: BS: Cat Nouveau Bathing Ritual From: Cats Date: 09 Feb 10 - 05:54 PM I used to have a cat who would sit by the tap and chirrup until you turned it on for him so he could drink from it. |

Subject: RE: BS: Cat Nouveau Bathing Ritual From: Genie Date: 18 Feb 10 - 02:37 AM Well, that's one way to get a kitty to bathe - at least the head. Pretty funny. As for wasting water, that cat's got nothing on this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WofFb_eOxxA |
