About twenty-five years ago, I read a substantial tome entitled The Story of English, by Robert MacNeil -- the same MacNeil as in the MacNeil-Lehrer Report on PBS.

That bit of video covered the same material in about eleven minutes and twenty-one seconds.

I know this is going to sound strange but I just saw this thread for the first time. I have been on the MUD for the last week on a regular base and i have not seen this thread which was posted yesterday. Is it just me or have you also wondered about this as well?
