Tar, did you actually check this out? I just looked at Ebay and found some books and magazines with articles related to Terry Schiavo, but no sign of the gown. And no, I wasn't hoping to bid for it.

Seriously folks, it makes little sense to complain about celebrities being treated like celebrities. If you pay any attention to them, you're part of the problem.

Just in case- Terry Schiavo was a Florida woman who had been in a vegetative state for 15 years before they finally disconnected the feeding tube and let her system die. Her husband had battled for years to allow it, her parents had gone to court numerous times to block it, believing that she was aware of them and responded to them.

Eventually, the right wing Republicans became involved, and then the Governor of Florida and then the US legislature and the Governor's brother, the president of the United States.

However, the courts finally prevailed and she was disconnected. After her death, autopsy revealed that her brain was a liquid mess with no hope of recovery.

and found out too late thsat EBAY had with drawn the gown due to many,many complaints from on;line folks!!
sorry i got this late,but i feel better now about it!!!!
btw,i thought it was a cruel thing to do and i voiced my opinion to EBAY about it!
guess they had otherds giving the same opinion!

OK, now that you reminded me, I DO remember who Terry Schiavo was, and I did pay a lot of attention to the story when it was current, because of the legal and moral issues involved--then her name apparently faded from my brain after the story was no longer in the headlines.

In my opinion, though, that doesn't justify anyone having any interest in her hospital gown.

I can believe (with effort) that someone might actually try to make some money selling something like that (the profit motive leads some folks to do some pretty sick things as we all know if we read the news) , but what kind of sick weirdo would buy it? And why!??
