Thanks, anyway. I've now got an internet link for bransles which gives me instructions, and music (both dots for the music department and sound coming out of my computer.
I have also found dance instructions for a farandole in one of my dance books (although a dance historian on another forum says we don't know, it's all supposition and fakery).
All I know about the music is that they were in 6/8 time. But I am quite certain that a modern jig wouldn't sound right.
Is there any farandole music online?
