I will be the One playing the Accordion, sitting on a Stool, playing for a Group of Dancers.... Happy New Year.....

Break a leg, Frank and Happy New North American Year to you, too! Being in the Central Standard Time Zone, I've still got a little while to wait -- Thank goodness the hometown hockey team is playing tonight -- What could possibly be better -- New Year's Eve and The Dallas Stars? It just doesn't get better than this!!

It's a little before 4:00 PM here in Hawaii and the sun is still up, but I do want to wish all the Mudcatters a very happy and healthy year, no matter when you want to start the century or millennium. We'll all be watching carefully here to see if the Y2K bug bites the Mainland. It looks like Europe survived OK, anyway.
Thanks to Max and Dick and Joe for making this wonderful site happen, and thanks to all who have made it a fun place to visit.

Aloha, Hau'oli Makahiki Hou
Mark

Yep Bill, So far so good for me too. My central heating still works and the electricity keeps coming. All is well.

Happy New Year to everyone. What celebrations I saw from the far East and beyond yesterday looked incredible, but I haven't seen anything of the London party or any of the European celebrations: too busy partying myself! I hope like me you all feel remarkably well this morning. (I daresay by tonight I will be a dribbling wreck)!

Thinking of bugs, I'm not sure if I have one or mudcat has one or what.

If I go to a thread and look down the list of users to move to the point where I have read before (which is someting I frequently do on the longer threads), it get's me there OK and the first "back" takes me to the top of the thread as before but I don't get the next "back" to take me to the main page, I have to select the forum page again to get back to the main page and sometimes have to then use the refresh button to get the threads to show as the were (although possibly updated) before.

Jon, I lose the ability to back up when I've been on for a long time. I think the temporary cache gets full and stops saving the more recent pages. If I close out MSIE and re-open it, it seems to work.

No problems with my computer, although it ran about 15 minutes behind time until the 2000 rollover ... moonchild

It was a very great pleasure to get reports coming in from the several time zones yesterday. The Mudcat is truly a globe-girdling community.

Ive just had a problem with my cookie and my computer lost my passwords but this was after I had been on this morning so I think it is just the usual windows thing not the dreaded bug.

What a dreadful combination that could be, the Bug AND the normal running of Windows - the world as we know it would collapse!!!

Hey, mark,

Thank you! Beautiful language. I've added those to my phrasebook, so next year I can greet you and know what I've said!

Creeping along...I just saw a wonderful show about an architect there who is a caucasian native, who is designing homes made from native materials, in native ways, and with considerations such as which way the winds blow, to let them help to keep a home cooled down, as well as how to blend in with the beauty of nature, etc. Uses bamboo, and if I remember correctly ironwood. His homes that they showed were really beautiful. His first name was Karey, I think last name was Smoot. I was very impressed. Such beauty there.

Thanks, again, Mark.

kat: Where did you see that program? I'd like to keep my eyes peeled for that one. I'm a structural engineer by profession, and I like to keep up with architectural trends too. If it was on TLC/Discovery it's bound to be repeated soon enough.

Gary, it was on HGTV, last night, I think the program was called Dream Builders, BUT, in searching their site, I cannot find anything on him, of course I may have his last name wrong. I did find this on their site, which shows a description of their latest episode #513 is not available, yet, so maybe that is the one. Also in searching Yahoo, I found tons of architectural firms listed in Hawaii, but so far none wiht that name. If I find anything out, I will let you know.

Thanks,

katlaughing
