Subject: BS: Bush and Alfred E Neuman From: kendall Date: 10 May 04 - 04:14 PM How do I find that picture that made Bush look like Alfred E Neuman? |
Subject: RE: BS: Bush and Alfred E Neuman From: Jim McCallan Date: 10 May 04 - 04:20 PM There's a few examples here, including the 'morphing video' Jim |
Subject: RE: BS: Bush and Alfred E Neuman From: Peace Date: 10 May 04 - 06:09 PM There was a similar thing done years ago (I think in 1968?) in whick parts of all the candidates heads were melded together and the composite was none other than Alfred E. It may have been in an issue of MAD. Not sure. |
Subject: RE: BS: Bush and Alfred E Neuman From: Morticia Date: 10 May 04 - 06:45 PM It was an Issue of Mad, I remember it clearly. |
Subject: RE: BS: Bush and Alfred E Neuman From: kendall Date: 10 May 04 - 07:03 PM It also appeared here |
Subject: RE: BS: Bush and Alfred E Neuman From: Joybell Date: 10 May 04 - 07:08 PM We got our copy online at "WWW.THE NATION.COM" dated November 13 2000. It's on our wall. The badge Bush wears says "Worry" instead of "Wot Me Worry". I think one of True-love's friends put him on to it. It gives him something to mutter and rave at. Joy |
Subject: RE: BS: Bush and Alfred E Neuman From: Bobert Date: 10 May 04 - 09:03 PM Hey, I object!!!... Alfred E. Newman is cool. Bush ain't. What-Me-Worry Bobert |
Subject: RE: BS: Bush and Alfred E Neuman From: Mark Clark Date: 10 May 04 - 09:12 PM As Joybell notes, it was from a cover of The Nation. Posters are still available here. - Mark |
Subject: RE: BS: Bush and Alfred E Neuman From: Bee-dubya-ell Date: 11 May 04 - 12:13 AM I agree with Bobert. Morphing Dubya into Alfred E. Neuman is very disrespectful to Mr. Neuman. Now, if ya wanna morh the SOB into Howdy Doody that's okay. Never cared too much for Mr. Doody anyway. Yeah, I know I'll probably catch hell for dissin' Howdy Doody. Go ahead. Take your best shot. |
Subject: RE: BS: Bush and Alfred E Neuman From: Ebbie Date: 11 May 04 - 12:30 AM I was quite taken aback last week. I was in a doctor's waiting room and picked up a copy of an April 26 Newsweek. I was arrested by a double spread of a cabinet meeting of the Precedent's. Lining the sides of the long table were a number of men of whom at least four looked presidential- serious, intelligent, focused faces. At the other end of the table is this caricature of a face: smirking, disengaged, lightweight... It was classic Alfred E. And it was an actual photograph. In his defense I decided that perhaps he loses his 'poise' when the camera is on him? I dunno, but oh, was it revealing. |
Subject: RE: BS: Bush and Alfred E Neuman From: Joybell Date: 11 May 04 - 07:34 PM I would have liked to see Alfred E. as president. I always thought he was cool too. The thing is that the two of them look so much alike. Poor Alfred. Our leader here, in Australia, looks like one of those innocent little men running the general store in old Westerns. Joy |
Subject: RE: BS: Bush and Alfred E Neuman From: Bobert Date: 11 May 04 - 08:10 PM I agree with ya, Beezer-man... Howdy Doody was brown nose and not a very trustworthy kinda puppet. He'd turn ya in in a heartbeat... Noe, Mr. Bluster, hey, you could trust him. Yeah, he might have been a jerk at times but his weren't no back satbber, no sir... But fir gosh sakes leave Alfred alone and don't in no way connect him to the Idiot in Thief... Bobert |
Subject: RE: BS: Bush and Alfred E Neuman From: beadie Date: 12 May 04 - 03:44 PM As I recall, Mr. Neumann did mount a brief candidacy in 1960, only to overshadowed (like Nixon's five o'clock) by the debate. I think I even sent in money for an "ALFRED E. NEUMANN FOR PRESIDENT" button {my Mom must have thrown it out before I could retrieve it from the mailbox}. |
Subject: RE: BS: Bush and Alfred E Neuman From: Ebbie Date: 12 May 04 - 04:40 PM This is the platform on which "he" ran: "He is just as smart as the other candidates, and twice as popular" On the Issues: * Guaranteed Health Care: ban all HMO's and medical insurance. Outlaw the American Medical Association. Change the medical deductions on the 1040 to 100%. Result: People will shop for their medical needs, thereby reducing inflated prices of pharmaceuticals, laboratories, doctors, and hospitals. After all, medical insurance is designed to guarantee that the medical industry be paid, not that people receive adequate treatment. * Social Security: Since when? * Education: The Government should stay out of it. Government interference only perpetuates existing stupidity. * Welfare: Get a job. * National Security: Who would be stupid enough to invade the U.S.? And what would they do with us if they won? Would it be any worse than what we have now? * Congress: Cut salaries to what these idiots are worth. Minium wage for entry level. * Protecting the public from itself: The government has no business interfering in people's lives or protecting us from our own stupidity. * Lobbyists and Special Interests: Tax all cash flow at 50%. Tax all religious institutions that engage in politics. (separation of church and state works both ways) * Equal Rights: Get over it. * Personal Income Tax: Dump it. Flat tax corporations 50% of gross with no deductions |
