Exactly, SRS. Right now they are a cluster of selfish boobs convinced that their future prosperity lies with keeping Trump happy. If enough of the Republican base and donors could convince them that that is a dead end, and that their political future lies in getting the mess cleaned up, then there would be a way out.

But both base and those pretending to be 'representatives' are unusually stupid and unusually stubborn, so let us hope something catalyzes a change in the situation.

The ceasefire talks are being done by Trump's son-in-law and best friend by proxy with the Pakistanis. They are invisible to the media.
Success for Trump is "I win, you lose". Success for Iran is basically the same treaty they had with Obama that Trump destroyed, plus control of Hormuz and war reparations.

259 billion dollars and more of the US treasury have gone up in smoke in any resolution.

The Trump madman strategy may not be an act anymore.

I think the insanity of Big T is and has caused many US neighbours to act in defence ~ US population and indeed UK and others are often unhappy with how their personal "lot" leaves them wanting more

A one off like Big T and Farage with as usual, promises never attainable or rarely so to vote these creature into power and break downs in the Govt machinery and checks and balance with people fearful for their own positions sitting on their hands

So next stop where? Iran or some other power unleashing their version of Nuclear power?

Turnip says he is all those things Don. The big question is, will you be able to get rid of him and ensure it never happens again. As for the former, we will know better after November. The latter is a bit more complex as it would involve a president willingly giving away some of the powers they currently have. Only time will tell.
