Subject: BS1-year old cannot find a job!! From: Art Thieme Date: 23 Jun 09 - 06:11 PM At the insistence of our son, Chris, and his wife, Kat,our grandson, Byron Thieme, who has his first birthday on June 29th, was out all day today trying to find a job. He just got back home for dinner, and you can be certain that, given the state of our economy now, he wasn't hired! It seems to get the job an applicant must have two years experience. I blame this on Bush! Art |

Subject: RE: BS: 1-year old cannot find a job!! From: Georgiansilver Date: 23 Jun 09 - 06:19 PM He should be in politics... he probably has more brain than all of them put together. |

Subject: RE: BS: 1-year old cannot find a job!! From: gnu Date: 23 Jun 09 - 06:27 PM He needs to shine up his CV. Display his qualities. |
Subject: RE: BS: 1-year old cannot find a job!! From: Rapparee Date: 23 Jun 09 - 06:29 PM I would say "change his diaper" but heck, it's Illinois politics and nobody will notice. |
Subject: RE: BS: 1-year old cannot find a job!! From: Bee-dubya-ell Date: 23 Jun 09 - 06:45 PM From June, 2008 until the present, Mr. Thieme has been self-employed, working as a baby. During that time, he has mastered the skills of shaking rattles, chewing teething rings, spitting up, and making poo-poo. He has recently begun learning to communicate using spoken words and is able to walk six steps without falling down. Mr. Thieme feels that these skills qualify him for employment in most governmental agencies, or as moderator of an Internet discussion forum. |
Subject: RE: BS: 1-year old cannot find a job!! From: katlaughing Date: 23 Jun 09 - 07:04 PM I'll bet he'd be a great party organiser, too! Happy Birthday, early, Byron!! |
Subject: RE: BS: 1-year old cannot find a job!! From: Rapparee Date: 23 Jun 09 - 10:22 PM Hell, let's elect him to Congress. Most of those fellas (I exclude ladies) have learned to chew, drink from bottles, fall down, and make poo-poo. |
Subject: RE: BS: 1-year old cannot find a job!! From: Janie Date: 23 Jun 09 - 11:10 PM If he can do all of that, it is time to introduce him to his grandpa's banjo! |
Subject: RE: BS: 1-year old cannot find a job!! From: Art Thieme Date: 24 Jun 09 - 12:59 AM His father, Chris, now posesses/owns all of my banjos plus my D-76 Martin 9-string guitar. I do miss having them around, but they are in good hands. Byron is a wondrous little guy who seems to double his size every time we see him. What a joy he and Siera and Chloe are! Art |
Subject: RE: BS: 1-year old cannot find a job!! From: Georgiansilver Date: 24 Jun 09 - 02:29 AM I know the joy you feel... I have three grandsons 17..13..and 7.... I take the latter to school each day and collect him from thee... we spend quality time and he presents me with an invisible jar of "Grandsons Love" to have with my dinner each night. Will be taking him.. on his own to a local Airshow early July and know as always it will be a special time. Best wishes all. |

Subject: RE: BS: 1-year old cannot find a job!! From: Georgiansilver Date: 24 Jun 09 - 08:31 AM He was doing that before he learnt to talk !!! |
Subject: RE: BS: 1-year old cannot find a job!! From: SINSULL Date: 24 Jun 09 - 08:47 AM Happy Birthday, Byron. With that honest face maybe you should consider a Ponzi scheme. Put all the profits in Mom's account so when you get caught she can keep it and you can prove that as a minor you're not guilty. |

Subject: RE: BS: 1-year old cannot find a job!! From: Elijah Browning Date: 24 Jun 09 - 09:01 AM Here's the kicker - Byron is working! He's been a trooper with Momma Kat in this 95 degree heat as she walks her dogs, her own business. Daycare is a bit steep in this economy. We're doing alright though. Her business is expanding and she's hired a helper. Byron is already plucking on the old banjo. He gets a big smile when he gets to play it. Our five-year-old, Siera's main goal is to see how loud it can get before Dad says "be careful or you'll break a string." Chloe and Siera have already got a pretty good Scruggs Roll. Better than Dad's but that ain't saying much. Byron considered a career in politics but prefers dog walking. Working with dogs or working with lobbyists, hmmm, hard decision. Also, the messes smell better and are easier to clean up, and unlike politicians, he hopes one day to be capable of wiping himself. Love from the Thieme family, part 2. |

Subject: RE: BS: 1-year old cannot find a job!! From: Rapparee Date: 24 Jun 09 - 04:13 PM I say that there's jobs for them that wants 'em! This "child" is a drag on American society, a parasite just looking for a bottle and a handout. Put 'em to work, I say! Or ship 'em back where they came from! |
