Subject: RE: BS: Stick Insects From: GUEST,MMario Date: 19 Mar 04 - 09:59 AM John - the variety of your interests astounds me! And so many people think there is nothing to you but curry and hamsters. |
Subject: RE: BS: Stick Insects From: Dave Bryant Date: 19 Mar 04 - 10:18 AM Do hamsters eat Stick Insects ? Personally I think it's cruel to stick insects - especially if you use super glue. |
Subject: RE: BS: Stick Insects From: Peace Date: 19 Mar 04 - 10:40 AM Stick Insects where? |
Subject: RE: BS: Stick Insects From: wysiwyg Date: 19 Mar 04 - 11:10 AM Curried hamsters?????? :~) ~S~ |

Subject: RE: BS: Stick Insects From: GUEST,Ed Date: 19 Mar 04 - 12:42 PM LOL, John! A nice spoof site. I particularly liked the FAQ: I think my wife is allergic to Stick Insects. What should I do? Don't worry. Masks are available from many retailers which will suppess some of the symptoms of Phasmid allergies, including most of those concerning vomiting and stomach cramps. |
Subject: RE: BS: Stick Insects From: Rt Revd Sir jOhn from Hull Date: 19 Mar 04 - 12:44 PM I see Ed is the only one who actually read the site! some interesting looking recipes there! |
Subject: RE: BS: Stick Insects From: open mike Date: 19 Mar 04 - 03:21 PM "Please send photocopies of your insects to the usual address" wouldn't this get a bit messy? |
Subject: RE: BS: Stick Insects From: Stilly River Sage Date: 19 Mar 04 - 03:41 PM Q: One more thing - why is it that everyone you've mentioned on this website is dead, yourself included? A: I really have no idea. |

Subject: RE: BS: Stick Insects From: Joybell Date: 19 Mar 04 - 06:10 PM My grandson is caring for his school class-room's stick insects on weekends. They are a popular pet here at the moment. He tells me that they can tell the gender of them and they give them appropriate names. My daughter awaits weekends with some trepidation. She's afraid the precious pets might die while in the family's care. Joy |
Subject: RE: BS: Stick Insects From: Liz the Squeak Date: 19 Mar 04 - 06:48 PM I used to have 2 stick insects. We couldn't tell what sex they were but they obviously could. They laid copious eggs which we managed to hatch some a few times, then we had about 60 stick insects. The budgie got one that got out. Didn't think much of it as a perch and even less as a snack. Subject: RE: BS: Stick Insects From: Shanghaiceltic Date: 19 Mar 04 - 09:30 PM I am sure I have a recipe for these somewhere. |
Subject: RE: BS: Stick Insects From: JennyO Date: 19 Mar 04 - 10:31 PM If you had followed jOhn's link, you would have found these |
Subject: RE: BS: Stick Insects From: Shanghaiceltic Date: 20 Mar 04 - 12:35 AM I did but my recipes would be Chinese. Stir frying with a bit of garlic, onion and ginger (the three Chinese treasures) would still leave you with the crunch and add flavour. Dead easy to pick up with chopsticks too ;-) |
Subject: RE: BS: Stick Insects From: JennyO Date: 20 Mar 04 - 01:37 AM Ah so. Chinese stir fry stick insects, maybe with some oyster sauce? |
Subject: RE: BS: Stick Insects From: Dave Hanson Date: 20 Mar 04 - 02:23 AM What is long and thin and sticky ? eric |
Subject: RE: BS: Stick Insects From: Dave Hanson Date: 20 Mar 04 - 02:24 AM A stick. eric |
Subject: RE: BS: Stick Insects From: Rt Revd Sir jOhn from Hull Date: 03 Dec 04 - 12:32 AM Don't forget to keep your stick insects warm, now winter is hear, you can make sleeping bags for them out of cotton wool. |
Subject: RE: BS: Stick Insects From: Peace Date: 03 Dec 04 - 02:06 AM Now wool comes from cottons? Thought wool came from--ah, never mind. |
Subject: RE: BS: Stick Insects From: Amos Date: 03 Dec 04 - 08:04 AM National Beauty Contest As the 14th December closing date approaches, members and friends are urged to enter their Stick Insects for the annual Beauty Contest to be judged in the New Year. Please send photocopies of your insects to the usual address. European Law Change After intense lobbying, the European Union has finally agreed to recognise Pashmids as insects instead of the previous classification as fruits. This ends decades of misunderstanding. These are really enlightening , John. Thanks so much!!! :)) A |
