Sometimes the grass is greener because it's had more manure dumped on it.....

Good luck with your future and keep us posted on where you land.

Skarpi... I wish you all the best. Take care of you and yours my friend.

Looking at this as an adventure is a great idea. I sincerely hope it is a great adventure. You are one the good guys... and a hell of a musician and singer. Whatever country you end up in will benefit from you being there.

Well Skarpi, you and Gunna are always welcome here, you know that.
I suspect there's even less work round here, than there is round your area, though!

I left my homeland at 25 and it was very exciting. Immigrated to the US just before Reagan was elected, and everything went downhill from there. I am now 56 and thinking about it again... but it's a lot scarier at our age. I wish you the best of luck.

Cheers,
Michael

All the best to you and your wife- making such a big change is scary at any age, but if you have hope and courage you can have success and fun in the process!

Good luck to you and Gunna, whatever you do Skarpi. Don't forget, moving to another country doesn't have to be permanent - things may improve in Iceland. I'm not sure things are that good anywhere right now - but Norway sounds nice. It's cold there, but you're used to that!

I have heavy duty machine cetfication :O)
But I can do any thing I want .

I once told a friend in here that it would be nice to try to tun a little store ..:O) .

but well see .

only thing that matter is to have faith in what you are doing
will I go back to Iceland ? I don´t know .....
I am 1/4 American ..my Granfather lives in Kansas ..
but yes its cold in Norway and we know the cold.

but it would be nice to go to warmer place for some time .

well we´ll see all the best Skarpi :O) with a strong faith and believe
in you r self you can do what ever you want to . :O)

Skarpi, I greatly enjoyed the April 2011 issue of National Geographic's TRAVELER which has a 10-page article on Iceland complete with numerous photos.

A lot of places in the world must seem tame after living in Iceland!

Best of luck in your next life adventure! I hope the job in Norway comes through for you. You're quite right: faith in yourself counts for plenty. You have great energy and you're positive about the future so I have no doubt you'll succeed.

35 degrees Celsius here last week, and that's in autumn, so if you want somewhere warm, try Northern Australia.

Good for you, Skarpi, for taking this time as an opportunity for a new adventure! I have some friends who, in their mid-sixties, have just joined the Peace Corps.

Thinking of you and your wife, and wishing you both the very best as you contemplate what's next!
