Oh Sir Jasper Do Not Touch Me!

Oh, Sir Jasper do not touch me!
Oh, Sir Jasper do not touch me!
Oh, Sir Jasper do not touch me!
As she lay between the lilly white sheets with nothing on at all!

Oh, Sir Jasper do not touch!
Oh, Sir Jasper do not touch!
Oh, Sir Jasper do not touch!
As she lay between the lilly white sheets with nothing on at all!

Oh, Sir Jasper do not!
Oh, Sir Jasper do not!
Oh, Sir Jasper do not!
As she lay between the lilly white sheets with nothing on at all!

Oh, Sir Jasper do!
Oh, Sir Jasper do!
Oh, Sir Jasper do!
As she lay between the lilly white sheets with nothing on at all!

Oh, Sir Jasper!
Oh, Sir Jasper!
Oh, Sir Jasper!
As she lay between the lilly white sheets with nothing on at all!

Oh, Sir!
Oh, Sir!
Oh, Sir!
As she lay between the lilly white sheets with nothing on at all!

Oh!
Oh!
Oh!
As she lay between the lilly white sheets with nothing on at all!

Great song, was taught it at Scout Camp back in the 50s
and always great for a good laugh, still singing it at camps
yet, But he missed out a verse that is the chorus, I.e. She's
a most immoral lady, (repeat three times) then, as she lay
between the lily white sheets with nothing on at all.   All the
best from Bonnie Scotland

Sir Jasper is sometimes titled "Sir Roger" and is sometimes added onto "Sir Roger of Kildare [aka Shoot the Cat]".
"She Wears Her Pink Pajamas" is sometimes used as an introduction to "Sir Jasper".

Oh, Sir Jasper

DESCRIPTION: "Oh Sir Jasper do not touch me (x3) As she slipped between the sheets with nothing on at all." "Oh Sir Jasper do not touch (x3), As she...." "Oh, Sir Jasper, do not..." "Oh, Sir Jasper, do..." "Oh, Sir Jasper...."
AUTHOR: unknown
EARLIEST DATE: 1956 (John Brunner, "The Number of My Days," Nebula Science Fiction 19 [December 1956], according to Jonathan Lighter)
KEYWORDS: wordplay sex derivative campsong
FOUND IN:
REFERENCES (2 citations):

CROSS-REFERENCES:
cf. "John Brown's Body" (tune) and references there

NOTES [110 words]: The trick here, of course, is that each time through, one more word is left out (perhaps with muffled sounds replacing it), until the final sounds are almost orgasmic.
It really should end with a "Tee hee," at least if anyone knows Chaucer's "Miller's Tale."
I would love to know what camps allowed this thing!
Averill calls this sort of thing, where words are left out of a song, a "decremental song." All I can say is, in terms of cleverness, this stands head and shoulders above the rest, even if it is not usable in polite company.
"John Brown's Body" seems to be a popular tune for decemental songs, being used for both this and "John Brown's Flivver." - RBW

She wears her silk pyjamas in the summer when it's hot,
she wears her flannel nightie in the winter when it's not.
And sometimes in the springtime and sometimes in the fall
she jumps between the lilywhite sheets with nothing on at all.

Often followed by
Oh, Sir Roger do not touch me (x3)
As she jumps between the lilywhite sheets with nothing on at all.

and the chorus losing one word of the first line at subsequent repetitions.

SHE'S A MOST IMMORAL LADY

Melody--Battle Hymn of the Republic

She wears her silk pajamas in the summer when it's hot,
She wears her woolen nightie in the winter when it's not,
But later in the springtime, and early in the fall,
She jumps between the lily-white sheets with nothing on at all.

Chorus: She's a most immoral lady,
She's a most immoral lady,
She's a most immoral lady,
As she lay between the lily-white sheets with nothing on at all.

Oh, Sir Jasper do not touch me,
Oh, Sir Jasper do not touch me,
Oh, Sir Jasper do not touch me,
As she lay between the lily-white sheets with nothing on at all.

Oh, Sir Jasper do not touch! (three times)
Oh, Sir Jasper do not! (three times)
Oh, Sir Jasper do! (three times)
Oh, Sir Jasper! (three times)
Oh, Sir! (three times)
Oh! (three times)

SIR ROGER OF KILDARE
(Tune: John Brown's Body)

Oh, please, Mother darling, may I go to the fair,
May I go with Sir Roger, Sir Roger of Kildare?
For he's young and he is handsome,
And he loves me for my sake;

Oh, please, Mother darling, may I go to the fete?
Oh, yes, my darling daughter, you may go to the fair,
You may go with Sir Roger, Sir Roger of Kildare.
But although he's young and handsome,
And he loves you for your sake,
Just take the bread and butter when he offers you the
cake.

Oh, poor little Mable, she went to the fair,
She went with Sir Roger, Sir Roger of Kildare,
And he offered her some candy,
And he offered her some cake,
And it wasn't very long before her turn began to ache.

She wears a silken nightie in the summer when it's hot,
She wears her pyjamas in the winter when it's not.
And sometimes in the springtime and sometimes in the fall
She slips between the sheets with nothing on at all.

Glory, glory for the summer when it's hot,
Glory, glory for the winter when it's not.
Glory for the sprintime and glory for the fall
When she slips between the sheets with nothing on at all

Oh, Sir Roger, do not touch me,
Oh, Sir Roger, Do not touch me,
Oh, Sir Roger, do not touch me,
As she lay between the sheets with nothing on at all
(Refrain to be sung with successive omissions).

She's a very naughty lady,
She's a very naughty lady,
She's a very naughty lady,
As she lay between the sheets with nothing on at all

SIR ROGER OF KILDARE
(Tune. "John Brown's Body!'.

Oh, please Mother darling, may I go to the fair,
May I go with Sir Roger, Sir Roger of Kildare?

Oh, yes, my darling daughter you may go the fair,

And all you young maidens, just beware, just beware,
Beware of Sir Roger, Sir Roger of Kildare,
For there is another version,
But we've brushed it up with care,
So sing the other version - if you dare, if you dare!

She wears a silken nightie in the summer when it's hot,
She wears her red pyjamas in the winter when it's not,
And sometimes in the springtime and sometimes in the fall,
She slips between the sheets with nothing on at all

Glory, glory for the summer when it's hot,
Glory, glory for the winter when it's not,
Glory for the springtime and glory for the fall,
When she slips between the sheets with nothing on at all

Oh! Sir Roger do not touch me,

....Joan, who had bawdy tastes, taught us 'O Sir Jasper'[26],
'My God how the Money Rolls in', 'Roll Me Over in the Colver',
'Little Mary up the Glen', 'The Virgin Sturgeon', and a ditty I
have not come across since: I wish I was a fascinating
bitch....Joan's repertoire came to her chiefly through her
boyfriend, a student at University College, London; she used
to go with him to sporting events, college dances and Rag Days,
from which she often brought back some new song or additional verses....

The girl who haughtily begins 'O Sir Jasper, do not touch me!'
is soon cooing 'O Sir Jasper, do!' and ends with an orgasmic
'O! O! O!' Moreover, she is an ideally available figure:
She wears her silken nightly in the summer when it's hot,
She wears her wool pyjamas in the winter when it's not;
But sometimes if you lucky you can catch her in the fall,
When she slip between the lily-white sheets with nothing on at all.

[26]The tune is 'John Brown's Body'. The verse is quoted below.
The chorus is a triple repetition of 'O sir Jasper, do not
touch me', followed by 'As she slips between the lily-white
sheets with nothing on at all'. The chorus is then repeated
several times, removig one word at each repetition ('O Sir Jasper,
do not touch' etc.), till only three very expressive 'O!'s
are left.

The "Oh Sir Jasper" is often associated with "Pink Pajamas" as they share the same tune. But "Pink Pajamas" can be traced as an independent ditty to pre-WWI.

Bit of a funny thread, but I remember a camping holiday in Scotland in 1974 when we had to walk four miles there and four (pissed) miles back to get to the nearest pub to the campsite (in Killin, Perthshire). We sang this song, exactly as in the opening post, to keep us going on the long slog back. To do it right, you have to do some almost orgasmic singing on the "Oh, Sir Jasper!" line!

And "She's a most immoral lady" is a key part of the song!
