Folk And Cider At Brandy Wharf

Brandy Wharf near Caistor is hosting a folk and cider afternoon this Sunday 12th August. I'll be there doing a couple of sets with harmonica man "Easy Bob Reid" and percussionist "Subtle Trevor" overseeing the music, PA side of things and who's on when. All very relaxed with just a touch of organisation, so performers have a least a couple of minutes notice before they're on!

All folky type musicians are welcome to turn up and play at the event which runs from 1pm-5pm. If you fancy a 15-20 minute slot let me know by adding a comment and I'll put your name down. I know some of the Gainsborough Folk Club crowd were planning to come to the earlier event that was cancelled because of the wet weather. Good to see some of my musical friends there. Also listeners especially welcome to come along, enjoy the live music and drink some cider in the sunshine!(hopefully)

If it rains there is a "Plan B" by the way!Once I've got an idea who'se likely to be playing I'll update this message.

Cheers Strummin' Steve Jackson

With the change of date, I was hopeful of making the Sunday this year until my youngest decided that she had something else for me to do.

Saturday evening singaround would be possible if it is taking place again this year.

Called in at Brandy Wharf yesterday for a swift shandy and to say hello to the landlord! They've got a board outside advertising Sunday as a folk festival 1pm-5pm.
Stitherum, John Blanks and Richard Langridge from Wragby are down to play so far but the more the merrier. I'll be doing my bit on strummers and guitars with harmonica man "Easy" Bob Reid and percussionist Trevor. See you and some sunshine on Sunday. Strummin Steve

As it stands with a couple of days to go they'll be Stitherum, John Blanks, Richard Langridge, Les Wood, Helian Keys and I'm down to do a couple of spots (probably beginning and end) with Easy Bob Reid (harmonica) and TC on percusssion. Bob Cairns (from Skellingthorpe) is keen to play but has a transport problem (eg doesn't have any!)I can't help because I'll have a car full of mainly equipment.Anyone else interested in playing let me know and we'll work it out.
I'm playing the lunchtime session at the Lincoln Drill hall tomorrow,so I'll give it a plug there.
Cheers Strummin' Steve

Singer songwriter Karl Svarc from Lincoln and Roy Stark also known as the Bangkok Bluesman who plays a Hugh Scullion lap dobro and mandolin are coming down to play too! Should be a good mix of folky rootsy stuff. "Svarc and Stark" would make a good name for a duo although I suspect they've probably never met each other!

I'm afraid we have to go on the "doubtful" list. (Lots of things to fit in before tonights singaround in Corringham.) The weather is looking promising though.
