Subject: RE: BS: Wiener dog in natural habitat From: Richard Bridge Date: 23 Oct 12 - 08:18 PM I'd have thought fur lined jockstraps would have been more use to them in the snow. |
Subject: RE: BS: Wiener dog in natural habitat From: GUEST,leeneia Date: 23 Oct 12 - 10:51 PM An insight brutal in its aptness, Richard. |
Subject: RE: BS: Wiener dog in natural habitat From: Little Hawk Date: 23 Oct 12 - 10:55 PM Well, no. Jockstraps don't work for Dachshunds, because they would get in the way of necessary bodily functions. Little knitted coats that keep the upper body warm are indeed the way to go. They make a huge difference on those cold winter days, and your Dachshund will manage just fine without the jockstrap. Love the picture, Dan!!! |

Subject: RE: BS: Wiener dog in natural habitat From: McGrath of Harlow Date: 25 Oct 12 - 01:53 PM Surely the "natural habitat" for a dachshund would be down a badger burrow... |
Subject: RE: BS: Wiener dog in natural habitat From: Desert Dancer Date: 25 Oct 12 - 02:40 PM For me, the bigger the better, when it comes to dogs. Gus looks like a sweetie. Kind of counter-intuitively, big dogs are often more mellow than smaller dogs, and though every dog needs exercise, big dogs can be better with indoor time than many medium and small dogs of active breeds. Depends on what they were bred for. ~ Becky in Long Beach (where I was yesterday too. I've been typing "in Tucson" more of my life...) |
Subject: RE: BS: Wiener dog in natural habitat From: Little Hawk Date: 25 Oct 12 - 03:15 PM Big dogs take up too much space for my taste, and they can be a bit overwhelming if they are the affectionate kind (or the aggressive kind). That's why I prefer small to medium-sized dogs. |
Subject: RE: BS: Wiener dog in natural habitat From: olddude Date: 25 Oct 12 - 03:18 PM Gus is a total sweetie, he really thinks he is a wiener dog as he grew up from the day he opened his eyes with wiener dogs beside him. My black and Tan wiener dog danke thought he was her pup and would lay next to him and groom him .. Now at 130 lbs it is funny to see her walk over poke him and he lays down and she grooms his ears ... He is a big sweet heart but if another dog growls at one of the little ones his fur goes up and his teeth go out ... very protective of the little dog when we walk them with him |
Subject: RE: BS: Wiener dog in natural habitat From: GUEST,olddude Date: 25 Oct 12 - 05:26 PM gus thinks Danke is his mom, here she is danke |
