Subject: BS: Billy Best video interview From: keberoxu Date: 13 Nov 16 - 02:45 PM Hopefully this link will work. I don't know what "podcast" is, but the video interview may be an example of a podcast. The sound is good, so you can hear the voices. The interview was done by Skype and for some reason, the finished video doesn't have moving pictures. There are a series of fixed images from the Skype session. The last of the images shows Billy Best with his little son Max. the interview begins 45 seconds into the video If you have never heard of Billy Best's story, the interview, 45 minutes, will tell you only so much, and you will have more questions. Since his story was a media sensation, a simple Google search on his name will turn up a lot of information. I just recently learned of him through a little magazine out of Arizona that I bought at the Sprouts chain of supermarkets in the checkout line. The story of illness and recovery is considered sensational. But what I love is this young man's attitude. Listen past all the "you know"s and all the "like"s and figures of speech, and you can hear gratitude and basic good sense. For me the interview is worth listening to, regardless of the history it tells, because of his attitude here and now. So I wanted to share it with Mudcat. |

Subject: RE: BS: Billy Best and his beautiful attitude From: keberoxu Date: 18 Nov 16 - 02:29 PM Sue Best, Billy Best's adoptive (and recently widowed) mother, maintains this website: Billy Best [alive and well] The book promoted on the website came out in 2012, and my copy was just delivered in today's mail. A professional author, Linda Conti, helped Billy Best to publish a first-person account of the things for which he is famous. It's an easy, quick read. Amazon dot com sells it; of course, if you used the Mudcat link to link to Amazon, and you purchase a copy of the book, then Mudcat also benefits from the sale. |
