My first grandson came into the world last night shortly after midnight, at 12:21 on 11-08-08. Well, he has been in this world
for 9 months, but now he is in the world of air and light.
He weighed 6# 4 oz. and it was quite an easy birth.
The event at their home was attended by a midwife
and her helper as well as Daddy, Aunt and Grandma.
He was born in a water tub and is a welcomed addition to our family. (no info yet on name)

Congratulations are in order all round - especially to your Grandson for choosing such a great family be born into. Of course you realise that one of the best things about being a Grandma is that you can hand them back when they are sicky, dirty, sticky etc.

how wonderful!

sandra's rule for holding babies - Hold baby so it's head is supported. If baby makes a noise or does anything in it's nappy (diaper) hand it back to it's parents!

Tho this rule probably does not apply to grandparents, who really don't want to let their baby go!

Wonderful news! Enjoy! Tig's right - you CAN hand them back! (Grannies can also wilfully undo all the "good work" that mum and dad have done, when they are older).

My second is due in a month, and unlike little Aminola, who lives the other side of the globe, I will actually get to SEE this one! However, ref the earlier remark, they have already booked me to have him/her on 28th Feb, when they are both off to see Metallica.
