Subject: BS: Help, 2 little cats need home, UK From: Bassic Date: 24 Jul 03 - 09:35 AM Due to the death of their owner, 2 pedigree Oriental Cats, brother and sister, need a new home. They are wonderful animals, about 2 years old, they are currently house cats thought they have been outside to play on many occasions. Because of their temperament they need to go to experienced owners but are not able to move in with existing cats/dogs etc, (if they could then I and several friends/family members would have them like a shot!!) Unfortunately a previously arranged "adoption" has fallen through due to another bereavement so we are desperate to find these beautiful creatures a new home. They are very "folk friendly", having been exposed to traditional music all their lives and it is everyone's wish that they go to a good home, preferably in the East Yorkshire area, but further afield would be considered if nothing local is possible. If you can help then please PM me and I will put intersted parties in touch with the family. |

Subject: RE: BS: Help, 2 little cats need home, UK From: katlaughing Date: 24 Jul 03 - 10:27 AM They sound lovely. I hope you are able to find someone good to take them...poor things. As young as they are, might it be possible that they could adapt to a home with other pets? I've done so with older Siamese cats and, after a time of adjustment, they've been okay with it. Good luck, kat |

Subject: RE: BS: Help, 2 little cats need home, UK From: Allan C. Date: 24 Jul 03 - 11:14 AM In 1956 there were three cats for every acre of land in the United States. I can only imagine what the statistic might be now. I shudder to think of what the proportion might be in the UK. Before you start throwing bricks, though, I need to tell you that I like cats - or at least other people's cats. I'm sure I will need to update this opinion once Terri and I are married. |

Subject: RE: BS: Help, 2 little cats need home, UK From: GUEST,Dog lover Date: 24 Jul 03 - 11:42 AM You don't through the bricks; they just way down the sack. Actually if they're small, I think one brick would suffice. |

Subject: RE: BS: Help, 2 little cats need home, UK From: McGrath of Harlow Date: 24 Jul 03 - 05:32 PM Off I went with the bodies in the bag, The bodies in the bag, gor blimey. But you'll remember the song ends with him taking it back home with an unexpected litter of six, along with the mother cat. (Anyone who drowns kittens is better off dead. And that's not meant ironically.) |

Subject: RE: BS: Help, 2 little cats need home, UK From: Liz the Squeak Date: 24 Jul 03 - 05:32 PM Again, three mogs already means I'm unable to help. Have you tried the local vets and the Cats' Protection League? CPL will never put down a healthy animal, UNLIKE the RSPCA despite what they say. In fact, I've had difficulty getting them to put down an UNhealthy animal but the happy, well ones, snuffed out just because no-one would house an older cat. LTS |

Subject: RE: BS: Help, 2 little cats need home, UK From: Bassic Date: 24 Jul 03 - 07:32 PM They are called Willow and Monty. I am the nearest they ever had to a "Dad". I drove the car and was there when they were chosen from the litter. I have nursed them through traumas, hunted for them when they dissapeared on their "days out". Held them when they had their claws clipped, played for hours with "string". I love them very much, and just want them to have a good home. They are increadibly tempremental but also very loving. Real characters who demand a great deal but also give a huge ammount. They are staying with the specialist cattery that they went to in the past on their Hols, the owner hopes to find a good home but if not will keep them herself. I, ( like many others) would love to have them but cant because of existing animals so its a last ditch appeal to some one who has the space, time and dedication to give to these much loved cats. Anyone who takes them on will curse me for the next six months, but after that they will have the best that ANY animal can offer in terms of entertainment, loyalty and love. |

Subject: RE: BS: Help, 2 little cats need home, UK From: Dave Bryant Date: 25 Jul 03 - 11:04 AM I was making assumptions (based on the well-publicised duel for your attentions) that it was something that he would be fantasising about. I was using the term "eat" in a transatlantic connotation. |

Subject: RE: BS: Help, 2 little cats need home, UK From: Red and White Rabbit Date: 25 Jul 03 - 11:59 AM they are big words - what do they mean? - the duel was a draw so I guess I will not be able to fulfil his fantasies - |

Subject: RE: BS: Help, 2 little cats need home, UK From: GUEST,Bograt Date: 25 Jul 03 - 01:24 PM Hi Bassic Are these two lovely cats still available? I mentioned them to a friend of mine today. She lost her well loved cat at the back end of last year and has been too sad to get another one (or two) until now. If they are still needing a home could you put a message on here for me? I don't have e-mail (and don't really want it) but I think I can get Dave The Gnomes home 'phone number as I live in the same 'phone area. Would it be possible for you to PM him with a 'phone number, then I could call him to retrieve it? These cats would have a great home (she is very knowlegable about cats having had 12 of her own so far, (and having the local vet' as a friend helps a lot too)). There is music in the house as well, jazz sax, duh. Well I will wait and see what developes for now. cheers for now Bog |

Subject: RE: BS: Help, 2 little cats need home, UK From: Bassic Date: 25 Jul 03 - 02:27 PM As mentioned before, the Cattery person has someone in mind for re-home-ing of Willow and Monty, we will know in the next few days if this will come off. If not I will be in touch with you via DTG. Thanks very much for your offer Bograt. Where are you? |

Subject: RE: BS: Help, 2 little cats need home, UK From: GUEST,Bograt Date: 25 Jul 03 - 04:14 PM Bassic Thanks for replying to my post, I am about 20 miles south of Manchester, so have access to the Manchester directory. The person who would like these cats was VERY keen when I told her about them, As I mentioned before, she was sad at losing her other cat (a pedigree persian), who died, like all her others, at a good old age. She didn't want to go out and get another cat, or cats, as she felt that the cat/s would find her, (does that make sense? Anyway you probably know what I mean). I think she feels that Monty and Willow (lovely names) have maybe done just that. We'll see how it goes. I don't know if this 'phone No I have got out of the directory IS DTGs, but if the cattery person doesn't succeed in re-homing them I will try it and make sure, otherwise I will join mudcat and PM you direct, I presume that I can do that without having e-mail? (I will join mudcat anyway, eventually, (it's a wonderful site, for many reasons) but at the moment I don't like my login name very much, so until I can find one that I am happy with I'll stick as a guest) thanks again for the help, I do hope they find a good home, whoever it's with. cheers again (soon to be changed) Bog PS What breed are they? Burmese? Siamese? and what colour? Thanks again Bog |

Subject: RE: BS: Help, 2 little cats need home, UK From: Bassic Date: 25 Jul 03 - 07:52 PM Bograt, you will need an email address to join Mudcat. However I suggest you get a HOTMAIL email address and just use it to get your Mudcat registration. As for your LOGIN name, you can change that any time. Your friend sounds like an ideal candidate. Get yourself registered and I will PM you further details of the cats. |
