The most famous course I played is being used today - the 150th Open is at St. Andrews. My card, from 1988, doesn't have a diagram, and I recall being surprised when my good-looking chip-and-run on the 1st suddenly disappeared into an unseen wee burn...double bogey...

Posted that same POS three times before. Opt for the link only or not at all. Got a comment about the Open, how the course is playing, a prediction......or just some half-assed bad poetry?

"how the course is playing"...well, Spaw, firm fairways mean on many holes run-up shots can be used (good for those not so powerful), greens are not too quick (good as it can get very windy), and the rough is tough long grass. And St. Andrews is also a very nice university town.

So windy was it, play was suspended for about an hour today.
