Yea Yea, they don't get viruses, just parasites, that monitor your activity and report back. Hopefully no more pernicious that Safari. It is a hope, not actuality.

However Ransomeware is a different story Farcebook has the story. Be afraid, know who you are getting freebies from.

I got hit with ransom ware and even got the follow up phone call.
when he asked me how my computer was doing I said " As good as it was last time I checked a couple years ago".

We partitioned the opening page and got the computer to open again.

No such thing as a free lunch. Bit Torrent is flirting with the miscreants anyway. But the warning is out there, Apple is not immune, and given the general attitude amongst Mac users that they don't get viruses, the potential for infection is very high. It took Apple a long time to admit there was a loophole in a Java update and only when it had been dealt with in subsequent updates. How many people updated?

Its a jungle out there. And using Intel processors made the job easier!

And there is always a "Norton Defender". Which if it isn't an anti-virus - what is?

It's strange that studios haven't taken advantage of torrent technology to offer their old films for download at, say, 50c each.
