Can anyone please help... More years ago than I care to be honest about, my parents had an old 78 called (I think) 'The Drage Way'. It was a comic song about a hire purchase firm, and had the chorus,

Be it ever so humble
Or be it a mansion
They'll always lay
The lino on the floor.

Of late it's been driving me nuts. Does anybody remember itor did my parents have the only copy?

The artist was Norman Long and it's on Youtube.

Terrific! Many thanks. I couldn't have recalled the artist's name for love or money. I can sleep easier at night.... If it wasn't for all the other fragments of songs long gone and lining up to be remembered. I really should have thought of YouTube...
