Subject: Lyr Add: A Driver's Lament From: Gorgeous Gary Date: 30 Mar 06 - 05:02 PM Inspired by this thread under the line, this just popped out. Unlike the poor SUV. A Driver' Lament ttto: "A Mother's Lament" (trad) by: Gary Ehrlich, © 3/2006 A driver was parking his Hummer one day, The largest of cars, in a terrible way. The roadway was poor and the asphalt was thin, 'Twas much like a skellington covered with skin. The driver turned 'round for a meter to pack He was only a moment but when he turned back His Hummer had gone, and in anguish he cried, "Oh, where has my Hummer gone?" The angels replied: Oh, your Hummer has gone down the sinkhole. Oh, your Hummer has sunk through the street. The poor SUV was so heavy and large, He should have been parked on a field of concrete. Your Hummer is perfectly happy; It won't waste our gas anymore. It's a-ridin' about with the devils below, And it won't waste our gas anymore. |
