I was hoping to throw a small party for two or three hundred people and was wondering about games that might be appropriate. It will be an adult crowd and quite casual. The only game I can remember for parties is bobbing for corn. If I recall, we would have our hands loosely tied behind our backs, and we'd lean over and without use of the hands attempt to bite a corn on the cob so we could bring it out of the water and deposit it on a plate. The person who did it fastest won a prize (in this game, cooling ointment). Do you know of more games we could play?

OK. For that many people I will need a game cloth about the size of a small football field. BUT, great idea.

Another good icebreaker is a game called "Pass The Corn" wherein a cob of corn placed between one's legs is passed from person to person without the use of hands. A good way to get up close and personal.

In "Pass the Corn" -- has the corn been cooked? And if so, is it passed hot or after it's cooled?

To get REALLY up close and personal try playing "Pass the kernel" where you pass a kernel of corn balanced on your lip to some else's lip.

The corn is cooked. We used to start the game as soon as the pot--very much like this one, but with corn, not apples--came off the open fire. It's always difficult to get the first forty or so people to take their turn. But the folks who've had a few . . . .

It must be pretty exciting, bobbing for corn while people throw apples into the pot.

Hey. I know you were just kidding there, but if we combine face painting--except not the face but the back of the head--and make a target on the head, then as the person bobs for corn he/she will be able to act as a target for folks who want to win a prize by getting nearest to the bulls eye. You are a genius, Rapaire. GOOD thinkin'.

HE he he you could try Snapdragon I read about it years ago and recently found this reference on line.
"The most famous Victorian Christmas game was called Snapdragon. It was traditionally played by children on Christmas Eve. Raisons are placed in a bowl filled with brandy. The brandy is then ignited, and all other lights are turned out. The people playing then try to snatch the raisons out without burning their fingers. One person would chant the following refrain, "Here he comes with flaming bowl. Don't he mean to take his toll. Snip! Snap! Dragon! Take care you don't take to much. Be not greedy in your clutch." This does point out the difference between their society and ours, since few parents in our society would allow their children to play a game in which they are suppose to deliberately stick their hands in a fire."

There are variations on spin the bottle.
Mud wrestling
But I like this one. Not new but you can have fun with small wagers or selling squares.
There must be lots of cows in your area? Do the cow patty game whereby you square of an area (much like a checker board) mark of squares say 3'x3' Bring in the cow and sooner or later she will have a dump.

Too bad that the Weekly World News has folded. Your party would be sure to end up on page 2.

Well, if we can reach consesus/connsensis/consennsus agreement on a platform we intend to enter politics. For the bobbing for corn game I thought we might add an element of excitement. It'll be the hit of the party.

You can also play Naked Is The Best Disguise.

Everyone is blindfolded and take their clothes off. Then they not only have to guess who everyone else is by touch, but they also have to put their own clothes back on. For even more fun do it in a muddy field or under a running sprinkler system.

"The cow patty game" sounds awfully familiar. A similar activity was very popular in the backrooms of New Orleans bars a couple of decades ago. The typical indoor venue, of course, required operations on a much smaller scale; the critical element, of course, is the use of a much smaller barnyard animal.

THE CHICKEN DROP
A ten-foot square, ruled off into 100 numbered small squares, would be placed or painted on the floor and enclosed by a low fence or wall. (One foot high was about high enough.) Squares would be sold for $1 apiece, and when all 100 were sold, the proprietor would toss a chicken into the ring. Do I need to explain how the winning square was determined? I strongly suspect that the chickens were fed something immediately before placement in the ring, because you never had to wait very long for a winning square to be "marked."

Because the winner took the whole $100 pot and the "house" did not take a cut, this was not illegal gambling. (The "house," of course, enjoyed large crowds and sold lots of beer on chicken-drop nights.)

There were usually a few shifty-looking characters on the scene wearing t-shirts and/or gimme caps with slogans or logos promoting cockfighting (which was and is illegal and largely unknown in New Orleans and surrounding suburbs, but which is not outlawed by the state of Louisiana and is actively conducted in rural areas).

The chickens performing the "dropping" may have been retired fighting fowl, and some of the more enthusiastic gamblers may have been recruited to join the spectators at out-of-town cockfights.

Chicken drops were a very popular local craze for a few years, back in the 1980s if memory serves, but no longer seem to occur hereabouts. Once in a while, I still hear of them being held somewhere else...

At a halloween party I threw I had people bobbing for those little airport bottles of assorted booze. We also threw in cans of beer and apples. I set out a pair of goggles to wear. The thing is with that, besides swapping a bunch of spit is too many people started to cheat. The temptation for a Grand Mariner must have been too much!

Oh, I see now! At first I was thinking how gawdamned hot the boiling pot of corn would be but THEN I understood that its a weather thing and since its so cold, you need some activities to heat things up!!! Gotcha'............So lessee what we can find, okay? Great.

This wholesome lady can probably heat things up for your party. I'm sure there's a contest in that somewhere............

Now here's something different! Were it me in my younger days and I had some good lookin' young skank juiced up with her panties down, I'd have thrown her a fuck myself, but I guess times have changed. Plus, it may not even be so different anymore as I notice it has gained in popularity. On the other hand, she may have rendered certain parts temporarily out of service.

So as the party winds down you might want to end up by Launching Fireworks

Ooooooo................
Ahhhh.........
YOWEEEEE!!!!!

Hope this all was helpful.
