A while back I asked for thoughts and prayers cause my wife and I were trying to have a baby. Then I asked for your thoughts and prayers because we found out we were having twin boys! Well, I'm baaaaaaaaaaack..... My wife was only 27 weeks but the boys were a little impatient and they decided that the 22nd of October was a good enough date. Joshua Thomas and Jacob Leonard were born this morning at 6:38 and 6:39 EST. Josh is 2 pounds 14 ounces and 15 inches long and Jake is 2 pounds 2 ounces and 14 1/4 inches. They are doing quite well and hopefully will be off of the respirator by tomrrow afternoon. Mom is doing great and there are no known issues right now and we all have our fingers crossed that nothing comes up!

All prayers, thoughts and wishes are greatly appreciated!!!!! I'll keep y'all posted.......

I weighed about that much when I was born, and it doesn't seem to have done me any harm. "Nothin' but a broiler", my grandmother said (the one with the alcohol problem). Anyway, your fine boys have all the good wishes and bound-for-glory good cheer I have to send them! They have a great future ahead.

Little ones...in more that one sense of the word!! My sister was about that size when she was born, and now she's about 5 foot 10. Congratulations!!

MMario, she might have to share...we don't have absolute confirmation, yet, but it looks as though my Rue will be having a girl mid-December...she's still working on a name for her, but Morgan will probably be the middle name.:-)

Congrats! I'm sure they are getting the very best of care. I was born a month prem and only weighed just over 2lb too. I was so tiny I weighed almost the same as a bag of flour. Well, I decided too I wanted out, and that was that.

I'm now 5ft 11, 30 years old and just fine.

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers!! The boys are doing pretty well. They are still on the respirators but we're hopeful that they can be taken off soon. It will be the next big step! So far, no surprises and all of the people in the NICU are SOOOO nice!! More later.......

Some advice from someone with 4 boys... Forget saving for the college education- save money for the food bill. Mine are all under 6 but you wouldn't believe the quanitites of food they consume!!!!! My husband says we'll go into hock feeding them when they're teens. That's why we gave the last one a viking name. We figure we'll need to send him out to pillage and plunder for food to stretch the pennies!!!!!! :-)

I didn't want to start a totally new thread so I thought I'd resurrect this one for a day or two.

My twin boys have just turned two years old on Saturday! There was a party and presents and they wolfed down some cupcakes pretty fast. None of the icing made it furthur than the lips and cheeks but the cake was good! Pretty exciting especially considering the way they started out! I remember starting this thread and I remember the positive thoughts and prayers from all of you. It seems like just yesterday but boy have things changed in two years! They are getting bigger and bigger, they're talking up a storm and occasionally I even understand them!

Life goes on and it's good!

I wasn't around in the 'Cat when all this started. Thanks for the update. I have 5(!!!!!!!) grandchildren and it is soooooooo fabulous. But I am delighted with WYSIWYG's GrandMUDDERS. You have probably forgotten what sleep is. I had 3 kids, but one at a time. The smarter they are, the harder they are to keep up with. This is the hard part.   The day is coming when one of them will bend over to give you a hug or peck on the cheek, and your head will spin--"Wait a minute. I have a kid. I was just changing his diapers or wiping his nose. Who is this incredible young man....????!!??" And you do the hard part to get to the gravy: they eventually give you grandchildren and you float on a joyous cloud forever after.....God bless J.T. and J.L. and make them grow in health and happiness. That is wonderful! Our twin grandsons, mentioned above, turned seven last May. AND, the one who lives with us, who we thought was going to be a girl(!) will have his second birthday next month. Isn't it fun!?!
