No way I can do New Year's Eve and a house concert the next day. So sorry. Mary |

Subject: RE: BS: New Year's Eve at SINSULL's cancelled From: SINSULL Date: 28 Dec 10 - 10:05 PM In my defence - I called Buffalo to see how they were doing. Two cases of bronchitis and one of pneumonia. We all caught the same crap over Thanksgiving. So much for sharing. |

Subject: RE: BS: New Year's Eve at SINSULL's cancelled From: SINSULL Date: 30 Dec 10 - 09:37 AM I feel well enough today to shower and dress. WHOO WHOO! I don't know how people cope with serious illnesses. Bronchitis and I am flopping around like Sarah Bernhardt. Even the cats are sick of me. But I am clean and dressed. It's a start. |
Subject: RE: BS: New Year's Eve at SINSULL's cancelled From: Jeri Date: 30 Dec 10 - 09:55 AM So the people at work sent you home because you smelled funny? Single people who are sick flop around a lot. And microwave available food. Then again, the worst I've had outside of a cold is a self-induced, medically prescribed intestinal "event". |
Subject: RE: BS: New Year's Eve at SINSULL's cancelled From: AllisonA(Animaterra) Date: 30 Dec 10 - 09:55 AM Oh, dear- feel better, Mary! |
Subject: RE: BS: New Year's Eve at SINSULL's cancelled From: SINSULL Date: 30 Dec 10 - 10:08 AM No, Jeri. They were convinced I had either pneumonia or TB and didn't want either. Very little sympathy there. All done with good humor though. So how did you enjoy your colonoscopy, Jeri? Clean as a whistle, are we? heh heh. SINS feeling better. |
Subject: RE: BS: New Year's Eve at SINSULL's cancelled From: Jeri Date: 30 Dec 10 - 10:26 AM They got one polyp and a bunch of healthy samples just for jollies. I discovered that mixing lemon Crystal Light with the "instant poop" solution turns things a day-glow yellow. Probably looked like someone had been blowing sunshine up my nethers. Miserable couple of days, but I feel OK now. |
Subject: RE: BS: New Year's Eve at SINSULL's cancelled From: CET Date: 30 Dec 10 - 10:35 AM Charmion, actually; Edmund's been at the study computer again. Glad to see you're up and about, Mary, but don't push yourself -- and definitely don't go out unless the house is on fire. Bronchitis has a nasty habit of rebounding on impatient patients, and pneumonia is not yet out of the question. Ring in the New Year in a recumbent position, perhaps in front of the TV. I find that a nice glass of something mildly alcoholic helps the antibiotics go down, although doing it on one's own feels more than a bit Tiny Tim. |
Subject: RE: BS: New Year's Eve at SINSULL's cancelled From: GUEST,Linda Kelly Date: 30 Dec 10 - 12:05 PM Hot Toddies-Scotch Whiskey (don't waste the malt-blended is fine!) lemon juice hotwater and brown sugar or honey to taste -wonderful way to enter a New Year!!! Good thought and peace for 2011! Love from those Hissyfit gals xxx (Hazel would post but she has flu!!!) |
Subject: RE: BS: New Year's Eve at SINSULL's cancelled From: SINSULL Date: 30 Dec 10 - 12:29 PM Poor Hazel. At least I am not confined to the bathroom. Actually Linda that's how I spent Christmas. Honey, lemon, ginger, hot water and a dash (splash) of JD. Helped me sleep too. To add insult to injury the heat went out. The repairman is downstairs installing a new circulating pump. Meantime no heat. ARGHHHH! How did the pioneers do it? They didn't even have microwaves. SINS |
Subject: RE: BS: New Year's Eve at SINSULL's cancelled From: Becca72 Date: 30 Dec 10 - 01:00 PM "Probably looked like someone had been blowing sunshine up my nethers." Hahahahahaha! Nice visual, Jeri. Now the song running through my head is "you are the sunshine of my liiiiife". |
Subject: RE: BS: New Year's Eve at SINSULL's cancelled From: John MacKenzie Date: 30 Dec 10 - 01:06 PM Well some people think the sun shines out of their arse, but I mention no names. Song for Jeri |
Subject: RE: BS: New Year's Eve at SINSULL's cancelled From: jacqui.c Date: 30 Dec 10 - 04:46 PM We took a pan of Jewish penicillin to Mary's this afternoon and dropped off a couple of Christmas presents at the same time. She's up and looking relatively well but says that if she does anything she gets very tired. Easy answer - don't DO anything. |
Subject: RE: BS: New Year's Eve at SINSULL's cancelled From: Jeri Date: 30 Dec 10 - 05:01 PM I got light-headed at the gym yesterday and cut my workout short. No eliptical. I figured it was because I hadn't been eating much since the Dr changed my stomach meds and they weren't working so well. Sometimes, it's hard to tell if feeling bad is because of the virus/bacteria/gunk or because you've been not eating/drinking/sleeping/moving because of the virus/bacteria/gunk. I don't suppose it matters. Chicken soup, however, ALWAYS matters. Take care of yourself, and try to not be contagious for the Cindy/Grey concert. If it's too much of a pain in the ass, I can piss off home afterwards. |
Subject: RE: BS: New Year's Eve at SINSULL's cancelled From: SINSULL Date: 30 Dec 10 - 05:15 PM Bed at the ready for you, Jeri. Will we see you too Becca? The soup is wonderful. Had a large mug just after Jacqui left. Feeling better. SINS |
Subject: RE: BS: New Year's Eve at SINSULL's cancelled From: Charley Noble Date: 30 Dec 10 - 05:44 PM So if there's no New Year's Eve at Sinsull's, does that mean that 2010 continues on for another year? Sins- Hope you're feeling better! Cheerily, Charley Noble |
Subject: RE: BS: New Year's Eve at SINSULL's cancelled From: katlaughing Date: 30 Dec 10 - 07:33 PM Well, I used my brain and went to the doc ahead of the gunk/crap/yukky stuff and am just settling in with a nice antibiotic in a lovely shade of turqouise capsules, complimented by a side of sandy-coloured acidophilus and one salad coming up! |
Subject: RE: BS: New Year's Eve at SINSULL's cancelled From: Stilly River Sage Date: 31 Dec 10 - 12:01 AM Don't you guys know that you're supposed to save getting sick for during the work week so you can use sick leave? Why waste a perfectly good vacation this way? (Take care!) SRS |
