Mine usta be Nate's Green Door, but you can't go lessen you're a guest of somebody in the 'hood.

If Willy Branch is playing, I like him -- used to have good things to say about the Northside white club owners who would pay somebody from the Southside peanuts to play all night.

MAG---Hi,

No offense intended, but it's BILLY Branch---unless he went to a new name recently. He's as fine a guy and harp player as you'll find. Had a great way with kids---showin' them what blues was all about---when we both did gigs through Urban Gateways arts-in-education agency for many years.

Art

Art, he went from Willy to Billy awhile ago; you're right to look for BILLY. His old band was the Sons of the Blues (SOBs). And yeah, he does tons of arts in education stuff.

Guy, look for the Chicago RReader (reversed R, there) -- alternative paper, has music listed by genre, venue, and date. You probably wanta stay Northside Lakefront; except that the Checkerboard Lounge (southside) used to be a big tourist Blues spot.
