While examining the URL for the various threads I've read, it appears that there's a unique thread ID number applied to each one... My question for the powers is, would that number be representative of the total number of threads that have been started on this beast?

'Cause, if it is, I notice we're fast closing on 15,000... and if there's ever been a cause for celebration, I think that this would qualify...

Of course, it could also be a completely random number and I'm just being overly optimistic...

While a-surfing through some of the older threads that are out there... I noticed one dating back to 1996, October 1 at 12:00 am, by our dearly beloved Max... Could that also be the birthday of our beloved 'cat?

Sean - you missed the B'day party over at the Tavern? geesh - it went on for most of a week, you could have dropped by for a pint, or some of the BBQ. Yes - Oct 1 is considered MudCat's b'day.

the interesting thing is, thread #3, I think is the first...while #1 is not...if you change this.(where we are now)http://www.mudcat.org/thread.cfm?threadid=14444&messages=3 to this http://www.mudcat.org/thread.cfm?threadid=3 you can read #3...same with any thread...although the search is not working, you can go to random early threads just by changing the # in the window...sometimes you find something neat!
