Subject: RE: Haywire Mac LP From: Mark Ross Date: 01 May 26 - 06:43 PM Haywire Mac wasn't only a supporter of the IWW, he was a driving force. He played baritone horn in the Wobbly street band in Spokane in the Free Speech fight, he wrote for the IWW papers, he was the first to sing Joe Hill's songs. On top of everything else he did in 1927 he gave up the life he loved to become a recording star (thanks to Utah Phillips for that line). |
