It's taken a long time, but I finally have some new mp3's up on my mp3.com site, www.mp3.com/BillCameron. I've uploaded three, one of which is my new song "511 Highway", the origin of which is described in this old thread: Rick's Old Lowden...

For some reason that one has not been posted yet (at least not as of an hour ago); the two that have are both more or less familiar: Rocky Road to Dublin and Wha'll Be King But Charlie.

So have a listen if you please. And if you want to do me an additional favour, listen to or download my tune "The Long Walk Home" which is somewheres on the mp3.com charts since Nicole Leonard of the band Lothlorien was kind enough to post it in a very prominent spot on her (internet-famous) band's mp3.com Station. It's got some great playing by my buddies James Stephens (violin) and Duncan Gillis (whistle).

I played "511 Highway" when I opened for Archie Fisher last week, a thrill I shall describe more when I get the chance.

As usual, gotta run. Number one offspring's rehearsing, Gilbert & Sullivan this time, and I have to pick her up in town.

Best, Willie-O

Bill, I will try again, tomorrow. For some reason, my computer always gets hung up in mp3. I finally got it to work for Lothlorien, when Nicole posted a thread, so I'm sure I will be successful. I'd really love to hear your new pieces. Hopefully by tomorrow 511 Highway will be up, too.

Congratulations ahead of my listening to them, as I am sure they are wonderful!

Well shucks, thanks Kat! As of the past five or ten minutes 511 Highway is now on the page thar.

I share your frustration with mp3(com)--a lot of the time, it just gives me error messages when I try to play songs. Which drives me nuts, because the error messages are inaccurate: my computer can too play mp3's, it happens all the time! For some reason though its more likely to generate music instead of the dreaded "Diagnosing your problem" screen, when playing a track on "Artist Radio" or an mp3.com station, rather than direct from the artist's page. Go figure.

Anyway the damfool song is up now, check it out!

Thanks and I loveyas all!

W-O

...for example I just get error messages trying to play anything on my mp3 page now. But "Wha'll Be King..." is on page 2 of "New Songs This Week" in World/Folk--and "Rocky Road" on page 3--and they play fine from the link on the charts.

Enh, there's too much time wasted on these damn computer linkup things...error, error.

diagnosing my problem, eh.

Just curious; did anyone check these tunes out? There was a big bulge in number of hits and downloads I got there yesterday, but since this thread appears to be talking to myself, I'm wondering if Mudcatters were there, or do I have some other publicity I don't know about?

Not petulant, just puzzled

Willie-O
