This may not be what you're looking for, but this page contains a "Christian poem" called "Hell Is Real" which contains the phrase "I thought I had plenty of time." The same poem exists at several other web sites.

Here is an advertisement for Best Of The American Country Hymn Book. Its contents include a song called "Plenty of Time" written by Clay McLean and Henry Slaughter, copyright 1970. I was unable to find any other information about this song.

Subject: Lyr Add: PLENTY OF TIME (Clay McLean)

PLENTY OF TIME
(Clay McLean)

I got up on Sunday morning, went to church at ten
I listened to the words I'd heard, time and time again
The preacher spoke of sinful lives; it seemed he spoke of mine
But I was young; I've got plenty of time

I walked on down life's pathway, living as I wished to live
Out to beat the other fellow, out to get what life could give
Making money isn't sinful, having fun is not a crime
So I'll just wait, I've got plenty of time

CHO: Plenty of time to decide where I'm bound
To heavenly darkness, or to Heaven's realm
Now I'm just a young lad, not yet in my prime
So I'll just wait, I've got plenty of time

Before I knew what happened, Life's scene had passed away
And millions stood before Gods Throne, for it was judgment day
Now eternal darkness beckons, and the name it called was mine
But I had thought, that I had plenty of time CHORUS

Eternity waits; I've got plenty of time, to think of all the days
That Christ could have been mine
Now my chance is over earths days are left behind
And here am I, with plenty of time
NOW I'VE GOT PLENTY OF TIME

Using the chord of (D) the chord progression is as follows

D--B-EM-AM-A7-D-D7
G-D-B-EM-AM-A7-D-D7
