Subject: BS: What drinks are members' names? From: Wyrd Sister Date: 12 Nov 04 - 01:37 PM Sorry if this has been done before, but the idea got me through the Friday shop . . . I would like to emphasise I have included no-one I know, nor are my ideas particularly inspired by posts, BUT to me:- Stilly River Sage is a pleasant chardonnay Katlaughing is one of those sparkly, herby non-alcoholic drinks (cf Amé in Britain) jOhn from hull (sorry if spelling wrong) is an idiosyncratic export-strength Real Ale brew from an obscure backstreet brewery, much loved by those in the know but spat out by many Gargoyle is something like moonshine, that fells those not raised to it. Any more? Sorry for any offence, it's just another silly game. |

Subject: RE: BS: What drinks are members' names? From: Bee-dubya-ell Date: 12 Nov 04 - 04:18 PM Rapaire is something green with lots of different kinds of hooch in it. Sorta like a Long Island Iced Tea or Bahama Blue - you don't realize it's kicked your ass until you try to stand up. Rustic Rebel is a variant of Sex On the Beach. Amos is too boring a name for a drink so it would have to be called "Infamous Amos" (with "infamous" intentionally mispronounced to rhyme). It contains a variety of obscure and little-known liqueurs. When you finish drinking it you're no sure whether or not you enjoyed it, whether or not you're drunk, and why in the hell you bothered with it in the first place. I'm not sure what a Martin Gibson would contain, but I know it would be served in an asshole-shaped glass. |

Subject: RE: BS: What drinks are members' names? From: open mike Date: 13 Nov 04 - 02:07 AM save the sprinking of salt and a good slug of Lea and Perrins for the bloody maria...tomato juice base (or hot v-8 juice or bloody mary mix) with tequila...i would hate to think of any of our "mary's" as bloody though....although we do have several lovelies... also sangria, which is wine and fruit, seems like a name that stems from blood as well..no one by that name here....though, is there? |

Subject: RE: BS: What drinks are members' names? From: SINSULL Date: 14 Nov 04 - 12:17 PM Martin, you don't know Ron very well. If milk, he would be chocolate with a touch of hot pepper. I however see him as a cool mint julip, meant to be sipped and enjoyed on a hot summer day. And do you mean Barium as in enema for BWL? Wrong again. Hard cider hanging hidden from Mom fermenting on the porch... the cider, not Mom. |

Subject: RE: BS: What drinks are members' names? From: George Papavgeris Date: 15 Nov 04 - 07:21 AM Well, I'm sort of naturally limited. Retsina, ouzo, raki or... TSIPOURO (triple distillation ouzo, reaches 60% alcohol, good for whatever ails you and several things beyond). Yes, that's me. But I wanted to be tequila with a lizard in the bottle. |

Subject: RE: BS: What drinks are members' names? From: MBSLynne Date: 15 Nov 04 - 04:00 PM Well I thought an MBSLynne would have to be a proper, still scrumpy type cider, but that's a bit boring, so I think it's a scrumpy with a shot of everything else in the bar, topped up with soda water so it bubbles over. |

Subject: RE: BS: What drinks are members' names? From: Dipsodeb Date: 16 Nov 04 - 11:37 AM Well my mudcat name was given to me by Rock Chick, as Dipsomania by definition in the dictionary is: An intense persistence to drink alchoholic beverages to excess ;-) So I suppose one might say I could be any drinks containing spirit, although my tipple is a drop a rum. I suppose at the time it was a fair comment and title, it had been a very bad year.... but I'm a good girl now virtually off the wagon, well ish!! LOL ~Debs~ |

Subject: RE: BS: What drinks are members' names? From: GUEST,Blackcatter Date: 18 Nov 04 - 04:04 PM Haven't a clue what I would be. Most cats have enough sense not to like alcohol. Maybe Catnip tea with a shot of Icelandic Brenevin (anise flavored aquavit, nick names Black Death). |
