Physics is certainly helpful in exploring consciousness but it is not enough. The tools, rulers, and measurements of physics still requires a mind that has mutual vulnerable understanding to the consciousness of even a tiny cell communicating with the rest of the body. One might even define love as a mutual vulnerable understanding.
Does a cell have rudimentary emotions?

We all get the word Artificial. Intelligence has many definitions.
One definition is the scalable ability to achieve specific goals despite unique barriers that initially block a system from its goals by creating an ability to bypass those barriers.

As we learn about other consciousness, we may have to face the fact that certain nonphysical fields affect our physical world, just like invisible dark matter affects our physical world. This would give rise to many different kinds of minds in the universe.

A Carrington-level solar storm today would be catastrophic, causing widespread, long-term blackouts by frying power grid transformers, knocking out satellites (GPS, communication), disrupting internet/phones, halting transportation/finance/water systems, and causing food/medical spoilage, potentially leaving millions without power for weeks or months and costing trillions, crippling modern digital society.
